78 => *${EXTEN:1} means that if you dial 78 then change it to *8 which is not what you want.

You will not be able to "trick" Voxalot into accepting * prefixed numbers so what you re going to have to do is be creative and define alternatives like:

178 => *${EXTEN:1} which means that if you dial 178 then change it to *78

Hi Martin,

Ok, I think I totally understand what you are talking about! Sorry if I don't catch on quickly. In the dial plan I did what you said and put in the replacement field *${EXTEN:1} and also put 178 in the "if the number equals, and then chose my VSP. However I still get a fast paced busy signal? When I want to dial say *78 through my VSP I would dial 178 on the phone correct? Still the busy signal. Any suggestions? I hope I am understanding you?

Hi Devin,

What you describe seems correct. When you type 178 in the test field on the dial plan list, where does it say the call will route to?

You need to have your dial plan entry as follows:

_178x. *${EXTEN:1}

Have you missed the leading underscore character before 178 ?

Edit:
Actually it might be either of the following two options:
_178 *${EXTEN:1}
_178. *${EXTEN:1}

Hi,

Thanks for helping me!

The _178 *${EXTEN:1} seems to be the one by the test call, when I do a test call it says that A call to:178 will get forwarded to sip:*78@ my VSP

But when I dial it from the phone I get a normal sounding busy signal. Am I missing something?

Any Idea as to why the test says *78 is being routed through my VSP (Which is what I want) but I get a busy signal when I actually dial it throught the phone?

What is *78 supposed to do?

Could you try to send the number directly through a SIP phone or ATA logged directly to your VSP and verify whether you get the expected response ?

It could be simply that the provider is not recognizing the tones due to some setup or codec incompatibilities.

At least, you have the dial plan working, and that gives you a whole new set of dialling options.

Yes I did verify it going straite from the ATA and not through Voxalot and it works just fine! The VSP offers some features that I would like to access while using Voxalot. I could just put them in speed dial but then I wouldn't have many numbers left for speed dial Why does Voxlot only offer 10 speed dials?

This thread has been split into two parts, the "speed dial limitation?" is a completely different topic; please follow the link that topic here:
