Default No Forwarding to SIP URI

With over 319 posts regarding forwarding problems is an common trouble.

I purchased Pro to fix issues with OrbTalk login with TrixBox.

Now I have a 1yr plan with Voxalot that will not let me forward my calls.

I just need forwarding to work -

If it doesn't does Voxalot provide refund for services that do not work?

Or if it works 25% of the time does Voxalot refund or credit the balance?

What exactly is the problem?

Is the SIP URI you are forwarding to valid i.e. does the URI accept inbounds?

More details are required in order for us to better assist.

I have registered Voice Service Providers: Orbtalk

If Call Connection (Call Forwarding) enabled: Orbtalk rings busy.
If Call Connection (Call Forwarding) DISabled: Orbtalk goes to voice mail

For this reason I state Forwarding to my SIP URL is not working.

I have tested the forwarding further and sent a call to sip:######@us.voxalot.com

Call Forwarding worked. It went to my forwarded number.

I purchased VOXAlot to fix problem with Orbtalk which forum stated works before buying.

How can I forward Orbtalk? - Voxalot goes dead when Forwarding enabled for this Call Connection.

Where are you forwarding to, what SIP URI?

Is it fair to assume that you're not registering with VoXalot directly?

Remember a SIP URI needs to be entered as sip:user@provider.com in the forwarding setup.

Also you're likely to have trouble if you are forwarding to a BetaMax service via SIP URI ...

PS. What was the issue with OrbTalk and Trixbox in the first place... from what I've seen OrbTalk works quite nicely with most hosted solutions at least?

Forward SIP URI = sip:1305#######@#####.dyndns.org

It's a Trixbox 2.2.4. Sip calls to it work and SIP calls to my Voxalot SIP URI - sip:######@voxalot.com - test and forward and work correctly with the above forward per my previous post.

We don't use hosted solutions. We have our own trixbox server and searches for a working Orbtalk Trixbox Trunk configuration have met with failure.

All Trixbox trunk configurations on the Internet are a year old and those configurations no longer work for me or anyone else that I can tell.

Any help is appreciated - If anyone has a working Orbtalk Trixbox Trunk Configuration, I would really appreciate if you shared it with me.

Or I'm confined to trying to make SIP URI Forwarding work with my Orbtalk account which is still working.

The settings I have were found here. - Pls note this too is over a year old and although my Orbtalk Provider registers, I cannot make calls or receive calls to Orbtalk.

Test: Instead of forwarding to sip:1305#######@#####.dyndns.org try forwarding to sip:613@fwd.pulver.com and re-test. Does it connect to the FWD echo test?

If the above does not work, then please post a screen capture of your Orbtalk provider settings.

Thanks

And if all that fails, have OrbTalk registered in VoXalot, and have VoXalot registered in TrixBox ...

6 attempts to post and respond to questions on this forum failed last night.

Martin: Orbtalk Settings attached.

SIP calls to your URI - I cannot hear anything it appears dead.

I forwarded to it and calls to Orbtalk do not immediately fail to Call Busy as it does with my URI.

I fowarded to sip:*7471101301@ekiga.net - Direct calls to Voxalot work
to forwarded to ekiga.net - Works OK

Calls to Orbtalk - Forwarding to ekiga.net Fail

So far these test show - Voxalot forward some uri's OK and Fails with Orbtalk.

Re: Trunking Trixbox with Orbtalk
Trixbox users state Orbtalk works then stops working. I also had it working then stopped after 6 months.

Emoci - That is exactly what I've been trying to do since I got my Premium account with Voxalot. My Trixbox was working with Voxalot on day one. Orbtalk Forwarding Fails.

Voxalot will not forward Orbtalk to my sip uri. - Voxalot Orbtalk forwarding Fails.
If I call Voxalot via SIP forwarding works. SIP calls to Orbtalk are not forwarded and Fail.

I still feel that I am losing money in that 4 days prorated from my Premium account have been wasted.

Anyone have Orbtalk working - forwarded to their SIP URI's or even land line?

I just tested a SIP call to Voxalot and it forwards to Ekiga.

I tested a SIP call to Orbtalk and it is not failing immediately.

Good sign but no audio. I don't have a telnet or SSH session to Voxalot available for troubleshooting so I'm only assuming Orbtalk may be connecting and passing traffic to Voxalot but that audio codecs may be wrong.

My audio codec's need tweeking I think.

Made Forwarding change to my sip number and calls to Orbtalk immediately Fail by ringing busy.

SIP calls directly to Voxalot forward and connect fine.

Any advice?

Cheers

Ok,

I have an OrbTalk number (44207 range). It is registered with VoXalot.

The number rings to the ATA registered with VoXalot fine.
Setting up call forwarding to my cell (using VBuzzer) also rings fine.
Setting up call forwarding to a SIP URI (eg. sip:mocierion@sip.mysipswitch.com) also rings fine at that destination.

(One difference between my setup and yours, which should be inconsequential but..., is that I've got Optimize Audio set to Yes)

Also try this codec string: ulaw;alaw;g726;g729;ilbc;gsm

I do agree with you that some SIP URIs are harder to reach than others... which may have something to do with the NAT situation with your server.

My suggestion above was to forego SIP URI forwarding altogether. Once Orbtalk is registered in VoXalot, simply register VoXalot in trixbox (no forwarding involved)

Also from my time around the forums I've noticed that DynDNS appears to have issues with incoming SIP URI calls (I myself have been experinmenting with no-ip with failry good results so far)
