But if I have my ATA registered directly with Gotalk (i.e. not through Voxalot) and forward through the ATA, it works fine and it uses Gotalk to make the forwarded call.
Isn't it basically the same principal that Voxalot is using? |

I would guess that when you forward from your ATA registered with Gotalk, you enter some code from your keypad that tells Gotalk to send the call to a different number. Your ATA would not actually ring, and no call is initiated at your end.
If you use Voxalot, you would be receiving a call to the registered SIP device or agent (Voxalot) and initiating an outgoing call at the same time. Probably Gotalk is not set up to handle that. |

I use a Zyxel 2602 modem/router/ata and tick a box in the admin screen for an unconditional call forward.
So basically the ATA recieves the call, then it dials my cell number and forwards the call. This won't work unless my ATA is registered to Gotalk's server. Therefore I don't think it is a VSP issue. I am still trying to wrap my head around how Voxalot handles call forwarding as it doesn't seem to be the same as a normal ATA. |
