Not playing Voicemail greeting

Hi,

My father's voxalot number is not always online(registered). When I call his number the voice mail greeting doesn't start but the message do gets recorded. Please help.

Try calling his acct from a SipBroker number, using a regular Phone Line not your VoIP acct.... does the VoiceMail greeting play then?

I am thinking it is you having an audio issue rather than there being a problem on his end...

Also from your VoIP line call *600 and see if you hear the Echo Test fine...

Have you had any issues with upload speeds lately, do you already have STUN setup (try setting up a STUN server, using something like stun.xten.com for example)...check the VoXalot Wiki for Hardware setups, there is a clear STUN setup for the PAP2 there which you can probably use as a guide....

Thanks for the suggestions. I called my father's voxalot number via SIPbroker's access number. I was able to listen the message box greeting clearly. But I am facing the same problem when I call from my voxalot phone. I can't listen his unavailable greeting. Although the my message gets recorded and is delivered to my father's email address. Whenever my father turns ON his ATA and his voxalot number is registered I can call him without any problem and the sound quality is all good. Its only when his voxalot number is offline I can't listen his unavailable greeting.

Ok,

Confirm for me that I understand this:

When your father's ATA is offline:
a) You call from SipBroker Access Number and can listen to the greeting fine
b) You call from your ATA (registered also with VoXalot) and cannot hear the greeting, but can leave a message....

When your father's ATA is online:
a) You can call him from your ATA and carry out a normal two way conversation

-Is that correct so far?
-What happens when you call *600?
-Better yet, give this a try, call 165528, do you hear the VM greeting there?
-Is there any chance your father has recorded both an Unavailable Greeting and a Temporary greeting, or has recorded a blank message for one of other categories?
-This is either an audio issue (but you say you can talk to him fine when he's online), or some minor VM mixup with the greetings?
