It's only a guess on my part, but I fear it may have something to do with the fact that Vbuzzer uses port 80 instead of 506x for SIP. I wish I had another suggestion, but at this point I've run dry.

Well it's working now. The only change that I have done on my end is changing the firmware on my SPA-2000 from the latest 2x version to the latest 3x version.

It appears that vbuzzer does not get registered when required when used as a provider. I can use it through the voip phone if I register first on X-lite (at home!) Then it seems to work OK. Either I don't understand how voxalot works or there is something strange about this. Why would voxalot (remote) be able to login only when I login locally????
There is probably a simple explanation. However, I would like have vbuzzer work with voxlot with out the need to run it at home. |

The reason is exaclt as you describe. VoXaLot does not perform SIP registrations. It only works with providers that support authenticated INVITES.
The reason it is working when you register beforehand with x-lite, is due to the fact that vbuzzer has detected a registration for your account details.

This is the problem with vbuzzer that others have mentioned on the site. So it would seem that vbuzzer will not work with voxalot and it is up to vbuzzer to make it work or not. My other provider, Mywebcalls, seemed to work yesterday. I now need to check that it to see if "worked" in the same way that vbuzzer does.

Just to update my previous comments. After I upgraded the firmware calling was working sporadically. I now have line 2 on my SPA-2000 registered with Vbuzzer but still only use VoXaLot to make calls through Vbuzzer. No more problems.

Yes, I can do that on my ATA.
However, I am trying to set up a regular IP phone (Grandstream) that has only one line and is a gift for a relative (not keen on new electronic devices). Voxalot seemed to be the way to make it user friendly and a good way to network family members. I think I shall have to dump vbuzzer and go with another provider (I think Mywebcalls works but I will confirm when I have tested it). |
