Default G711 and Voxalot

My first Forum message, be gentle with me !

I have tried to register my provider but the form is rejected saying " Incorrect Codec". My provider only supports G711. I have tried to add G711 to the list of codecs but again G711 is refused.

Could you please advise

Grahame

Hi Grahame,

Try using alaw and ulaw instead of G711. (ie alaw;ulaw;g726;g729;g723)
Also check this post it may contain other info you may find useful. http://forum.voxalot.com/showthread....highlight=g711
Cheers,
Mark

Mark,

Thanks for your suggestions.

My Providers page shows my provider is now "active" but still remains unregistered after 24 hrs.

My provider is freephonie.net ( under beta ). Is this simply a case of freephonie will not accept incoming SIP calls ?

Thanks

Grahame

Hi Grahame,
If you check the Sip Broker White Pages you will see that freephonie.net does not accept SIP calls from other SIP providers.

This should not have anything to do with why it won't register though. Did you try registering via your ATA? If this works, did you allow enough time to become "unregistered" before asking Voxalot to register? Try editing the entry in Voxalot again and give it another 24hrs.

Just some thoughts, you may need to ask martin to see if this is a Provider specific issue.
Cheers,
Mark
