Default Cannot call other Voxalot members

Hello,
I have the problem that I cannot call other Voxalot accounts through Voxalot.
If I call them using some other VSP for outbound calls, I can reach them. But when using Voxalot for outbound calls, I cannot reach them.
I dial the SIP URI sip:account@voxalot.com.

Could it be that my dial plan wants to route this to some external VSP?
I have one dial plan with the pattern "_X.".

Regards
Jochen

The quickest and easiest way to get an answer to a question like this would be to set the 'Active' switch on this dial plan entry to 'No' and see if your problem goes away.

I can test this tonight. But I'm wondering... if this is the case, how can I distinguish between Voxalot numbers and other numbers in dial plans???
Voxalot URIs should always be routed to Voxalot instead of going through the dial plans.

You don't need a dial plan entry for VoXaLot numbers. VoXaLot handles them automatically (as long as you don't have a dial plan entry that sends them elsewhere).

If I use third party VSPs for calls to PSTN, I *have* a dial plan.
My question was: how can I distinguish between internal Voxalot numbers, and numbers that should go to PSTN? They all look the same. Can you suggest a pattern to distinguish between them?

Hi,

Best way is to avoid using short dial plan entries like:

_X.

If you opt for a longer wild card pattern like:

_XXXXXXX.

Then any 3 digit or 6 digit VoXaLot numbers will be handled by the system and any 7+ digit numbers will match the dial plan entry.

Hope that helps.

It's a little awkward, but you could use web callback for calling between 2 voxalot accounts -- this may also help if double NAT is an issue, ie each account is setup behind a NAT firewall setup.

Many thanks! That helped.
I think this should be mentioned in the dial plan tutorial.
