Default interrupted dial tone then normal

Hi

When I pickup the handset, I hear sequence of interrupted dial tone, for say 10 times then the normal dial tone, I thought I still have some messages in my mail box, but on *500 and enter the password, I have no messages.

What could that be?

I think I had the same issue in the past. It seems your ATA didn't interpret correctly the messeges were removed. Unfortunately I have no solution as I removed this way of vm notification. In my country this feature is not used at all with PSTN lines so I don't miss the feature.

Make sure of two things:

1. You do not have Voicemail Message Indicator on (try and turn the option off on your device just for a moment, if younormally use the feature)

2. The other thing (I have had this happen to me on my PAP2), if I have played with call forwarding on my ATA this will happen. Make sure you add something like *xx to your dial plan, then pick up the phone and dial the codes to turn off any call forwarding options on the ATA

Or, if you can control these setting directly from the web interface, set at least Call Forward All to No.

(A quick way to see if it is Call Forwarding that's the problem, is to see if your phone rings when someone calls)
