Thank you Voxalot
Folks:
The more I go deep into Voxalot the more I get impressed. In my opinion it is too good to be true. One of the great features is the “Providers” in which you can collect all your SIP and VoIP accounts in one Voxalot account. I have one SPA 3102 that provides 1 SIP account for incoming calls. I was thinking of buying another SPA (2102 or 3102) to be able to register more than one account. The “Providers” feature solved this problem for me. I am asking everyone now to start calling me on my Voxalot SIP number. So I did not test the quality of calls should I receive a call from another SIP account. I also did not try it for outgoing calls. The only risk I am worried about is if Voxalot is done for whatever reason, all my other accounts (including paid ones) are also down. Nevertheless I have to admit that I am very impressed with the effort being made by Voxalot team. This open the door for many questions that I did not answers to at Voxalot website. 1) Who is behind Voxalot? In the world of free economy nothing for free. Who is behind all this effort? 2) How does Voxalot recover costs? Is this a commercial activity in a beta (soft) opening that later will charge for its service? 3) Does Voxalot offer directly (or through a third party) outgoing calls service so I can dial out PSTN numbers? If so what is the website for it? I am using the “Providers” feature to do this right now. Keep the good work. |

Thank you John.
First let me add to my earlier posting that I did not know that SIPbroker is part of the effort made by Voxalot's team. The PSTN access numbers are beyond any belief. Thank you again folks. Three things I noticed when using the SIP Broker PSTN access numbers. The sound in the Washington DC has a high base. In other words the sound is not crisp. I am not complaining but it is just a remark. The quality of the Toronto access number is not reliable at all. I understand that these numbers are contribution from various providers. When using the PSTN access numbers I end up unable to access my PSTN line connected to my SPA 3102. There is a problem with the DTMF. I don't know how to fix it because it works perfectly when I access it directly or through IPKall. Quote:

This is where you set SIP Registration to YES so that you can directly receive incoming calls. Outgoing calls usually don't require registration. Incoming calls can sometimes be done by forwarding the call via the service provider itself.

This makes sense. I was surprised that the FORWARD feature will be considered premium, while PROVIDERS which is a very unique feature to Voxalot will remain basic. According to what you mentioned, the registered providers (incoming calls) will be premium while unregistered (outgoing calls) will remain basic.
