Vamming and SPIT
I recently asked a provider why they would not pass SIP to SIP calls or calls via SipBroker.
I was told they were evaluating systems to protect their users from vamming and SPIT and until such times as this was in place, no SIP to SIP. Fair enough, one might think. But given 90% of my SIP calls go through Voxalot/SipBroker I was wondering is there anything inherent in the Voxalot service that protects against vamming and SPIT. Or will there be in the future. This sounds like an attempt to disguise the obviously self-serving benefit to a provider to locking out other networks from their customers, and latch on to the scary but still virtually hypothetical risk of VOIP spam phone calls.
