![]() Does anyone use or know if any IP phones are compatible with Voxalot? Currently I use X-Lite but I would like an actual phone sitting on my desk to use with Voxalot.
Any special hardware requirements? Thanks. |

![]() The Siemens Gigaset IP phone range works very well with Voxalot. Currently we are using the C470IP and A580IP.

![]() IP Phones:
Siemens Gigaset C470IP & C450IP are nice. C450IP is slow when configuring through web interface (better with Opera or Chrome browsers) and is limited to one account. Both have a maximum sound level too low, but ok it works. The Siemens A580IP seems nice too, but I never tested it. Probably the next I'll buy... Modems: SpeedTouch 706 and 716 are good devices, but not correctly documented and tricky. FritzBox! seem very nice/good hardware and innovative. Comtrend devices are simply pure sh*t... don't even lose time looking at them. ATA: Linksys PAP2T heats a lot (really too much), there is no correct support from them, firmwares are buggy. I won't buy any more product from them. Zyxel could be good, but I had a very bad experience with my item (locked by LDLC), so I cannot tell. I just strongly recommend to avoid buying through LDLC.com (France)!!! GrandStream seems to be the reference, but no luck to test them up to now... Probably soon for the "new" 502 or 503. When choosing, check available codecs and consider only hardware with multi-accounts possibility. (Only one account is quickly too short.) Good luck! |

![]() You would be hard pressed to find a SIP device that is not compatible with Voxalot. I have had much more trouble with the router than the SIP device. Router NAT works poorly with SIP. You usually need to clearly define the routing path, usually manually, to make for a reliable VOIP experience.
I should also add, locked SIP devices to another VOIP carrier do not work well with Voxalot. You have to unlock them. |
