I live in the UK,
of Course the Pimp DID number that I have does work really well, it's just the caller ID out. You know how it is, some people refuse to answer the phone if they don't know who's calling! What with dodgy sales calls and all. Mike |

sign up for an free account with voipuser.org
You can make calls for upto 15 minutes at a time for free to uk landlines and it leaves a caller ID. I configured voxalot to route through this provider if I prefixed my numbers with 1470. Last edited by chatalot; 11-06-2007 at 07:11 AM. |

What number are you trying to verify VoipCheap with, the PimpMyNumber DID (that could be the problem if they are not set to transmitt DTMF tones properly), or it could be a DTMF setting in your ATA....
Edit: I see you've considered all that already.... Since you already live in the UK, why not verify a home number, or Mobile with VoipCheap and have that sent as CID? Or better yet, get a real UK DID number (not special code like PimpMyNumber.co.uk) from OrbTalk or Coms.... Last edited by emoci; 11-06-2007 at 05:23 PM. |

yeah I have checked on the ATA.
The number that I actually have now is one of the new 056 numbers that are now becoming common place. The reason that I opted for that is that it's not expensive for the caller to dial in on it. I have also tried to use my home number without any success. If I remember, it did work from the software client but not the ATA. Mike |

The 056 numbers _may_ not be expensive, but when standard land line calls are free, then any number with a cost is extra to the caller.

Oh sure, your quite right.
But many people don't call you from a voip phone. so for those people at least it's a reasonable rate. It's really for these people that are trying to get hold of me when my landline is engaged. Mike |
