FonoSIP and Voxalot.
Hello,
I've decided to switch VoIP providers to FonoSIP which had pretty good ratings in the providers list. I've setup my account at FonoSIP and then used the settings I found at the FonoSIP site to set it up in Voxalot. The current settings are: Codecs: g729;g723;g726 Host: fonosip.com Port: 5060 Username: 8xxxxx SIP register: No Optimize Audio Path: No I've only got 1 dial plan active which is FonoSIP's. They provided me with some test numbers, the only one that rings is their echo test which is "393613", however it only rings around twice and then there is silence, data is being sent/received through my SPA3102. Calling Voxalot's echo test works fine. I am unable to test calls to landlines etc since they process payments manually. Did anyone experience similar problems with FonoSIP? Thank You |

I realize FonoSip gave you that codec string, but give this a try and see if things change:
ulaw;alaw;g726;g729;ilbc;gsm -Also make sure to not restrict your SPA to use only certain codecs, let it negotiate the best codec directly |

Ah yes adding ulaw and alaw helped . Just noticed the default codec being used by my SPA was G.711.
Thanks for the help! |
