Emoci - I may be misunderstanding somthing
I am registered with Voxalot through Trixbox. I removed all forwarding at Voxalot I make SIP call to Voxalot and nothing comes into my Trixbox. I may have somethign wrong in my Voxalot trunk settings. I need to start simple and get Voxalot calls to arrive before troubleshooting with VSP Orbtalk. I can call myself through Voxalot but it says Person Unavailable. It should ring in. This may be inbound Trunk Setting problems. Trixbox Setup: Outgoing Settings Trunk: Trunk Name: voxalot-out canreinvite=no fromdomain=us.voxalot.com fromuser=305### host=us.voxalot.com insecure=very nat=yes secret=secret type=peer username=305### Incoming Settings USER Context: voxalot-in USER Details: canreinvite=no context=custom-voxalot fromdomain=us.voxalot.com fromuser=305### host=us.voxalot.com insecure=very nat=yes secret=secret type=peer username=305### Register String: 305###:secret@us.voxalot.com Any Ideas? |

I tried several Trunk settings including yours - all result in same:
When I call myself at sip:######@us.voxalot.com, I get voice recording " The person at Extension... is not available" I have Voice mail disabled so I can force calls to the registered Box. Apparently Voxalot is still not send me incoming calls. Any more clues? BTW - Thanks for your time. |

Re:
Use http://voxalot.com/action/deviceRegistrations to see what VoXalot sees asregistered on this end... Test incoming via SipBroker access numbers... - It shows Registered. Test Incoming - I am totally brain dead on these access numbers. Search for "Test incoming via SipBroker access numbers" gives me: http://forum.voxalot.com/sip-broker-...us-thread.html No access numbers on this page. SIPBroker - PSTN Numbers It says: Here is a current list of PSTN access numbers that work with SIP Broker. At the voice prompt, dial [sip-code][number] or ENUM number: But a text search for Voxalot on this page gives no hits. Even if it did I am not clear on : ?At the voice prompt, dial [sip-code][number] or ENUM number? They have numbers like: Bahia Blanca +54-291-485-4001 camundaNET From the number schema - I cannot tell the [sip number] from the [number] Can you help me figure out how to: Test incoming via SipBroker access numbers? Cheers |

You call the SipBroker Access number using a regular PSTN phone (list of numbers is here SIPBroker - PSTN Numbers , find one that's local to you hopefully ) After reaching the gateway, dial *010-123456 (replace 123456 with your VoXalot number)... This works like a number+extension method to call different users on various VoIP networks... It seems to me though you have some NAT issues with the network behind which your Trixbox is sitting (so far Orbtalk and VoXalot both have issues registering with your setup)...do you have UPnP enabled, what router are you using? |

Just tested through Sip Broker Access NUmbers:
Call arrived fine - Working OK! Good stuff. Does this eliminate the NAT/Router Problem. I have the following accounts working 18 sip peers [15 online , 3 offline] 16 iax2 peers [5 online, 0 offline, 11 unmonitored] Broadvoice Sipgate Junction Networks Messagenet VOIPJet Les.net sipphone.com Aside from receiving SIP calls from Enum and Guests Unless Voxalot is using a classified port? My router is a Buffallo WHR-HP-54 with DD-WRT v24 RC-3 In summary - It works with a whole slew of providers 24/7 so what the problem is with Voxalot - I am just now figuring out with your help. So back to my last findings: Sip Broker Calls arrived and worked - Still no joy with Calls from Orbtalk. I took this a step further in that - I was surprised to see Success calling through SIP Broker but not directly via SIP URI So I called my Orbtalk via SipBroker Access: Per Orbtalk - To dial Orbtalk from another provider: **(Provider SIP broker access string)*7579 <Account> I'm not sure I'm calling correctly - Dial access Number -> *7579 7182078 (Orbtalk Accnt ID disclosed to see if you reach AutoAttendent on my end) When I call the Orbtalk number through SipBroker I get a Busy Tone. BTW: I replicated your Orbtalk Voxalot settings Huhm? Last edited by Editor; 12-22-2008 at 10:25 PM. |

I can reach this fine: *7579 7182078 (Miami Today)
Where are you running these tests from? Any chance that you're testing from behind the same network and that's confusing things? Send me a PM with: -Your OrbTalk Number -Your VoXalot number -The SIP URI @dyndns.org you're trying to forward to (I just want to test whether I can get through from my end) |

Trixbox - Orbtalk through Voxalot - SOLVED! 12/22/08
After much angst - I have confirmed that I can call my Orbtalk NUmber and it rings at my Trixbox.
Here are my Findings: Testing via SIP URI fails - Also testing Voxalot via SIP URI fail - You have to test using SipBroker Access Numbers per below: Dial your Local SipBroker Access Number- In my case 13058901597 Once prompted, enter: *7579 for Orbtalk Then dial your Orbtalk ID: 718#### or 13058901597 wait for prompt then *7579718#### Monitoring your CLR - One should see the call coming in. Voxalot VSP Orbtalk Settings: Provider Name* Orbtalk_In (Name of your Choice) Username* ###### (Orbtalk ID NUmber) Codecs* ulaw;alaw;g726;g729;ilbc;gsm Host* talk.orbtalk.co.uk Port* 5060 Active* Yes SIP Register* Yes Optimize Audio Path* Yes/No ( Both settings worked) TrixBox Voxalot Trunk Settings: Thanks Emoci- Outgoing Settings Trunk Name: voxalot-out PEER Details: allow=alaw&ulaw&g729&g726 callerid=305### (Your Voxalot Number) canreinvite=yes context=from-pstn disallow=all dtmfmode=auto fromdomain=voxalot.com fromuser=305### (Your Voxalot Number) host=us.voxalot.com insecure=very nat=yes qualify=no secret=secret (Your Voxalot Password) type=peer username=305### (Your Voxalot Number) Incoming Settings USER Context: voxalot-in USER Details: allow=alaw&ulaw&g729&g726 callerid=305### canreinvite=yes context=from-pstn disallow=all dtmfmode=auto fromdomain=voxalot.com fromuser=305### host=us.voxalot.com insecure=very nat=yes qualify=no secret=secret type=peer username=305### Register String 305###:secret@us.voxalot.com Your Console should show: 69*CLI> sip show registry Host Username Refresh State us.voxalot.com:5060 305### 585 Registered 69*CLI> sip show peers Name/username Host Dyn Nat ACL Port Status voxalot-out/305### 64.34.173.199 N 5060 Unmonitored voxalot-in/305### 64.34.173.199 N 5060 Unmonitored Testing: Per above you have to call into your Trixbox via Sipgate. Sip:305###@us.voxalot.com will fail SiprbtalkID@orbtalk.co.uk will fail 1) First Test your Voxalot Incoming - Find a local access NUmber here: SIPBroker - PSTN Numbers Dial it - Ex: I had to dial the following to test Voxalot 1-305-890-1597 - I chose this because I have a Les accnt You will hear a voice prompt to enter your number "now". Wait till voice says NOW to dial the rest Voxalot Access: *010 or *061 Dial your Voxalot Member ID: ###### In my case I dailed 13058901597...wait till prompted...*010305### Your CLI should show the call coming in at this time and your phone should ring. Now to Test OrbTalk setup: Dial your SIPGate local access NUmber: Dial the Orbtalk Gateway: *7579 Dial your Orbtalk ID: 718#### Ex: for me I dial 13058901597...wait for prompt...*7579718#### Your CLI should show your call coming in and your phone should ring. Observations: Too bad SIP URI's don;t work. My attempts to forward from Voxalot to my Trixbox sip URI failed. Emoci says to setup with MySipSwith.com but every overhead point will obviously incurre delay resulting in poor connection quality. Calling Orbtalk -> MySipSwitch -> Voxalot -> My Trixbox - is not my idea of routing a call through the least HOPS possible. Right now calls route: Orbtalk -> Voxalot -> My Trixbox From my SipGate tests Sound quality was Eh! OK. Voice breakups occured but remember: Calls were routing like: In my case: Les.net -> Sipgate -> Orbtalk -> Voxalot -> My Trixbox Direct calls from the UK to my Orbtalk should have many less hops and less delay. I hope this helps someone - Special Thanks to Emoci and The other person who's name escapes me for their time, consideration, patience and knowledge. Happy Holidays to all and a Prosperous New Year. Editor FOLLOWUP: I had the pleasure to receive an Orbtalk Telephone call from Emoci: He called my UK Orbtalk number - perceived no audio delays - no echos etc. The sound quality was impeccable. We spoke and at some length and I discovered that: Once the call arrives at Orbtalk, Vozalot simply hands the call off - without being in the middle as it were. He stated that a Basic plan would not achieve the same result. $25yr for Orbatlk to work with my Trixbox is affordable. But he mentioned the same hand off could be achieved with MySIPSwitch. I had a MySIPSwitch account but I coul'dnt figure the dialing plans out. In summary: Now my Trixbox receives calls from my Orbtalk UK telephone number and with Great Sound Quality to boot. Not bad for $25 in my opinion. I'm curious about exploring the Orbtalk to Trixbox solution through MySIPSwitch. Another note: Emoci mentioned that my sip calls to voxalot and Orbtalk failed because I was calling from inside my system. To more accurately emulate a call from the outside he suggested using GIZMO or some service that initiates the call from their servers. I tested with GIZMO and SIP calls to voxalot succeeded. Calls came right in to my TrixBox. SIP calls to Orbtalk still failed making me suspect their servers do not accept SIP calls. PSTN calls via Sipgate worked both with Voxalot and Orbtalk - but sound quality was nothing like the call I received from Emoci to my Orbtalk UK line.
