Default Default Voxalot Dial Plan

I have been experimenting with Voxalot dial plans. After making some mistakes I tried to see what Voxalot did on its own ie. what is the Default Voxalot Dial Plan.

After de-activated all my dial plan entries, and according to the 'Number to Test' on the Dial Plan page, entering:

- 500 goes to sip:500@voxalot.com (even though I think I am on voxalot.com.au). ditto for 600
- any six-digit number gets forwarded to voxalot.com eg. 123456 --> sip:123456@voxalot.com (That is, 6 digit numbers are assumed to be Voxalot.com numbers.)
- any number starting with * gets forwarded to sipbroker eg. *123456789 --> sip:*123456789@sipbroker.com

They appear to be invoked before you get to the User Dial Plan.

So the issue of Users not being able to use voxalot.com as a Provider appears to be a non-issue.

BUT the issue of none of these being forwarded to voxalot.com.au - even though you are on voxalot.com.au - remains.

Is not being able to send any digits to voxalot.com.au a problem in practice?

I think that using 600 to test access to voxalot.com.au might be useful.

All voicemail is central i.e. voxalot.com

600 is server specific even though the test diagnostics say voxalot.com i.e. if your preferred server is voxalot.com.au then it will run the echo test on this server.

Correct, however if the destination number is registered with voxalot.com.au then voxalot.com should delegate to voxalot.com.au

No dial plans take precedence.

The current system should support this. We have seen a number of posts to the contrary so we will need to look into why this is not working as designed.

Already works that way despite what the UI tells you.

Isn't ** meant to call the speed dials? I've not had it work for me yet though.

So, single * to sipbroker and double * to voxalot.com[.au] speed dials...?

Okay, that will explain why it hasn't worked for me as I use the .com.au server.

Thanks Martin. Very helpful.

My statement that the 'default dial plan' rules take precedence is wrong. On rechecking, the User dial plan rules seems to take precedence over the default dial plan. For example:

I set up a rule

Priority 1 _500 ${EXTEN} SIPME

and the test shows it goes to sipme.com.au so it is taking some form of precedence over the 'default' _500 rule.

Affinity - you are right. **2 gets you to Speed Dial No.2.

Martin, is it worth me drafting some suggested words that explain the default dial plan rules so they can be added to the Voxalot Dial Plan web page?
