Default How to find out a sip uri or enum alias for a DID?

Let's say threr is a US DID number +1-302-442-7167, which can be dialed from a regular PSTN. How do I find out if this number is mapped to ENUM or otherwise has any kind of SIP alias? More importantly, how can I find a sip uri (if any) at which I can rich this DID?

For example, at the bottom of the web page SIPBroker - PSTN Numbers there is the following note:
Quote:
Note: ENUM (*013) is the default SIP-Code. In the above examples, you could dial 1-604-484-5289 or *013-1-604-484-5289 with the same results.
What is the sip uri for the number "*013-1-604-484-5289"?

rybshik,

"Does not work." does not adequately describe the result you are observing. Are you trying to say that the *013 function is not working for you? Or, are you trying to say that the *013 function is returning a "number not found" result that you are not happy with? Or, are you trying to say something completely different?

I am not sure how I can use "*013 function", but if I make a direct IP call at sip uri *01316044845289@sipbroker.com, it fails

For the basic ENUM roots, you can enter the number in the SIPBroker - ENUM Lookup page, and see if the number is in the ENUM roots. And you can also use that lookup page to search other ENUM roots not supported by SIP Broker (but in the latter case, you have to manually specify the ENUM root during that web page lookup).

Or you can just use the ENUM dialing feature of SIP Broker or VoXaLot to try calling the number (and if it fails, the number is probably not in ENUM).

For non-ENUM SIP aliases, there really isn't any automated way to find the alias. If you are very lucky, a google search on the number might find a web page that also lists a SIP alias. But beyond that, about the only way to know of non-ENUM SIP aliases is to ask the owner of that number. i.e. when you talk to them, ask them if they have a VoIP/SIP URI that can reach them...

If the number is in one of the 5 ENUM roots that SIP Broker supports, than the following SIP URI (which uses SIP Broker's ENUM service to complete the call) should work:

*013number@sipbroker.com
(where "number" is the actual number, in international dialing format, that you would dial via the PSTN)

The easiest (but not the only) URI that would work is:
*01316044845289@sipbroker.com

In summary:

To find if a number has ENum mapped to it check here SIPBroker - ENUM Lookup

If it does, it is likely that on top of the URI reported by enum these will also work:

Number@sipbroker.com
*013Number@sipbroker.com
