Devin

The highest number in the speed dialling list that I have checked is 9999, that is I set up **9999 as a speed dial entry.
(No, I do not have 9999 entries, OK !!).

The system did not complain, and the call worked fine.

Perhaps, it's time to explore that approach ..................

I don't think there is a limit on the number of speed dial entries with Voxalot.

I only have speed dials up to 10? Do I need to add a new string for this? Arggg!

I want to get a new ATA, and stop using this Sunrocket Gizmo. Any suggestions? What do you think of the Linksys SPA3102, it has alot of nice features.

Is that on the device or on the Voxalot website itself?

I haven't tried to do many speed dials, but it is my understanding that there isn't a limit here -- I could be wrong though.

Another alternative is to create a dial plans and use them as speed dials.

For example you could have an entry as follows:

_263739 real_number_to_call

Now when you key in Andrew on the keypad, it will ring the real_number_to_call

Kind Regards

Where do you see the 10 speed dial limit? Is it on the website?
Could it be a limit imposed by your ATA or perhaps a conflict in the Dial plans?

Added :
The Speed Dial numbers do NOT have to be consecutive, and definitely work up to **XXXX

I suspect it's an assumption that you can't use **3733 to call FRED's number if **3 is already in use. I haven't seen any documentation to indicate that you can in fact do this.

Well I just did a test:
  • I added 3 speed dials 1, 11 and 111
  • then I used the dial plan test function
Each entry showed that it would use each different speed dial. I had a total of 11 speed dial entries, others with different numbers -- so 10 is definitely not the limit and it seems that the limit might in fact be 9,999 different entries!

Test with "**1", speed dial 1 will be called.
Test with "**11", speed dial 11 will be called.
Test with "**111", speed dial 111 will be called.

Kind Regards

Yes, that was my point. I do use multi-length speed dials, based on called parties' names. I was just saying that although I know that it's possible, I hadn't seen anything anywhere that points this out. Now that this thread's been started, it should hopefully become more well-known.
