Connecting to MyHomePhone (Macedonia)
I've just recently signed up to a VOIP provider based in Macedonia (I require a DID there). The company is MyHomePhone My Home Phone - Macedonia Calling Card, Phone Cards, Cheap Calls
I have tried to register via a number of methods, including: Billion 7404VGP with the result: Jan 17 23:28:24 home.gateway:sip_SipTransactionManager_?:none: SIP Registration Error 1 for phone XXXXXXXXXX (from the router event log) The following from the Billion console: sip_SipTransactionManager_?: sip_SipTransactionManager_?: [SipTransportLayer::sendUdpMessage]->Entering sip_SipTransactionManager_?: REGISTER sip:voipmk.my-home-phone.com SIP/2.0 To: "MyHomePhone" <sip:XXXXXXXXXXX@voipmk.my-home-phone.com> From: "MyHomePhone" <sip:XXXXXXXXXXX@voipmk.my-home-phone.com>;tag=144070c47 Via: SIP/2.0/UDP XX.XX.XX.XX:5060;branch=z9hG4bK6720056p;rport Call-ID: 242070jpg CSeq: 48 REGISTER Contact: <sip:XXXXXXXXXXX@XX.XX.XX.XX:5060> Expires: 3600 Supported: replaces, precondition Content-Length: 0 Max-Forwards: 70 User-Agent: BiPAC 7404VGP 5.60c sip_SipTransactionManager_?: sip_SipTransactionManager_?: Reg FAILED for user XXXXXXXXXXX CallCListener::handleRegResult(status=3, index=7/0) CallCFSM::registerStatus(7 regStatus=3 userInfoIndex=0) Linksys SPA3102 with the result: failed SJphone (the soft phone recommended by MyHomePhone) with the result: 20:40:56 DEBUG 2009-01-17 09:40:56.047 UDP 93.95.65.9:5060->LOCAL SIP/2.0 200 OK Via: SIP/2.0/UDP 192.168.1.3;branch=z9hG4bKc0a801030000001f4971a7a7 0000547a00000002;rport=5092;received=XX.XX.XX.XX From: "unknown" <sip: XXXXXXXXXX@voipmk.my-home-phone.com>;tag=4b4b113e97 To: <sip: XXXXXXXXXX@voipmk.my-home-phone.com>;tag=75a6b4defce6c5a4c58ca73618758c2c.3edc Call-ID: 00E50CAED3D8493FBC8975FDF19068040xc0a80103 CSeq: 2 REGISTER Contact: <sip:XXXXXXXXXXX@XX.XX.XX.XX:5092>;expires=60;rece ived="sip:XX.XX.XX.XX:5092" Content-Length: 0 20:40:56 WARNING Registrar did not registered none of our contacts! 20:40:56 NOTICE Foreign contacts returned by the server: sip:XXXXXXXXXX@XX.XX.XX.XX:5092 20:40:56 INFO Not registered sip: XXXXXXXXXX@voipmk.my-home-phone.com 20:40:56 INFO Registration reattempt scheduled after 60 seconds Understandably, registration has also failed with Voxalot. The provider and I did some troubleshooting this evening. The claim that registration packets from me are malformed. See this log from what they sniffed on their server from my SJphone connection: 2.069951 XX.XX.XX.XX -> 93.95.65.9 UDP Source port: 5076 Destination port: sip[Malformed Packet] 17.069635 XX.XX.XX.XX -> 93.95.65.9 UDP Source port: 5076 Destination port: sip[Malformed Packet] And from my Billion 7404VGP: 2.069951 XX.XX.XX.XX -> 93.95.65.9 UDP Source port: 5076 Destination port: sip[Malformed Packet] 17.069635 XX.XX.XX.XX -> 93.95.65.9 UDP Source port: 5076 Destination port: sip[Malformed Packet] 66.330058 XX.XX.XX.XX -> 93.95.65.9 SIP Request: REGISTER sip:voipmk.my-home-phone.com 66.341708 93.95.65.9 -> XX.XX.XX.XX SIP Status: 401 Unauthorized (0 bindings) 66.854972 XX.XX.XX.XX -> 93.95.65.9 SIP Request: REGISTER sip:voipmk.my-home-phone.com 66.862703 93.95.65.9 -> XX.XX.XX.XX SIP Status: 200 OK (1 bindings) 136.897196 XX.XX.XX.XX -> 93.95.65.9 SIP Request: REGISTER sip:voipmk.my-home-phone.com 136.905009 93.95.65.9 -> XX.XX.XX.XX SIP Status: 200 OK (1 bindings) Now, the thing is I have successfully registered 5 other VOIP providers in my Billion and use these via dial plans. So, while I consider myself a novice, I do know a little about these things. The only other thing which may be of relevance is the massive lag on their server: Tracing route to proxymk.my-home-phone.com [93.95.65.9] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms home.gateway [192.168.1.254] 2 38 ms 38 ms 36 ms lns10.syd7.internode.on.net [150.101.197.27] 3 37 ms 38 ms 37 ms vl114.cor2.syd7.internode.on.net [150.101.120.166] 4 224 ms 223 ms 217 ms gi6-0-0-103.bdr1.syd7.internode.on.net [150.101.120.173] 5 187 ms 188 ms 188 ms pos5-0.bdr1.sjc2.internode.on.net [203.16.213.162] 6 195 ms 193 ms 193 ms sl-st22-sj-3-1-2.sprintlink.net [144.223.179.177] 7 193 ms 193 ms 193 ms sl-st20-sj-8-0-0.sprintlink.net [144.232.29.234] 8 219 ms 218 ms 220 ms sl-tisca1-36701-0.sprintlink.net [144.223.242.150] 9 358 ms * 357 ms xe-0-0-0.fra60.ip.tiscali.net [89.149.185.105] 10 391 ms 390 ms 392 ms 01758-001-01-gw.ip.tiscali.net [213.200.86.250] 11 419 ms 419 ms 455 ms 87.118.152.169 12 417 ms 418 ms 415 ms 87.118.152.170 13 407 ms 394 ms 403 ms 93.95.64.195 14 448 ms 432 ms 428 ms 93.95.65.9 Trace complete. They say this lag could be the cause of the problem. My ISP is Internode, and generally accepted as being reliable. I haven't (yet) taken this up with them. I'm disinclined to think that Internode is the issue considering that I can't connect from Voxalot (and from one other SIP aggregator). Obviously Voxalot is connecting from outside of my network (and therefore, Internode). Can anyone make sense of what might be going on? Does Voxalot provide any logs or other diagnostics which might assist in troubleshooting this? Thanks in advance for any assistance! (Note: My account has been replaced with XXXXXXXXXX and my IP address with XX.XX.XX.XX). |

However, that server you have used is NOT for customers who have a Macedonian in-dial number. That server is for customers who want to use their "cheap" outgoing calls facility. I have used the servers provided to me in my MyHomePhone setup email and these have been confirmed as being correct by MyHomePhone. I would appreciate comment from anyone who has any understanding of the logs I've provided herein. |

Just in case though do try voip.my-home-phone.com instead of voipmk.my-home-phone.com and see what happens

Just to reiterate, there are two systems:
The real culprit appears to be something on their server which sees registration attempts as malformed packets. Any ideas? Last edited by NotAlwaysOnlySometimes; 01-18-2009 at 04:37 AM. |
