Call Forwarding and Account Registration

I have always assumed that an account has to be registered with Voxalot in order for any call forwarding rules to be effective, would someone please confirm that this is in fact correct.

You need to have a voxalot account setup with the call forwarding rules, however you do not require a device or phone to be registered for it to work.

I wonder if this would work if the forwarding rules sent the incoming call to a fixed number via a Betamax(Voipstunt) company. Would the workaround that was put in place for Voxalot prevent calls getting through them.

Reading some threads in phorum I still don't understand is it possible to forward incoming calls to pstn via betamax or not ?
