Default Proper way to call one Voxalot ATA from another?

Hi,

I have two Voxalot Premium accounts registered on different ATAs in two countries.

What is the proper sip address (or another way if there is one) to call one from the other? I am currently using sip:xxxxxx@voxalot.com, but I'm not sure it is working correctly because call records report the call as going out through one of my registered VOIP providers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

When calling between Voxalot phones I use the name of a regional proxy in the SIP address; 123456@us.voxalot.com. If I try to make the call as 123456@voxalot.com the following error message is returned (in a SIP packet) from Voxalot.

SIP/2.0 403 Forbidden. Use (us, eu or au).voxalot.com

Note that 123456@voxalot.com does work (and may be the preferred form) when calling from non-Voxalot phones.

Thanks. I gave that a try and the outgoing calls are now longer showing in my call records. Previously they were showing up as going through one of my registered providers. So I assume your suggestion is working and the calls are transparent to Voxalot.

boatman, my voxalot is registered at sipsorcery. it's found *010-123456@us.voxalot.com instead of 123456@us.voxalot.com works in my outbound dial plan if I call other voxalot users. Are you sure "123456@us.voxalot.com" should be used always?

my early post

Thanks,

I don't know the official word, but my experience has been that when the calling device can authenticate with Voxalot (meaning it's got your Voxalot SIP credentials) the call should go to (us, eu or au).voxalot.com without any *010 prefix. On the other hand, if the calling device is not capable of authenticating the call should go to voxalot.com. If neither of those methods work you can try sending the call through Sipbroker using the appropriate * code.

Here is my update. I tested it several times this weekend (meanwhile Sipsorcery seemed down sometime).

In my sipsorcery outbound dial plan,
123456@VOXALOT goes to vm directly. Never rings my phone.
*010123456@VOXALOT rings my phone. If none picks it up, it will go to vm.

Possibly Aaron could tell where the issue is. Another possibility is authentication mentioned by boatman.
As long as the SIP URI call works, I am happy.
