PS there is some valid PSTN numbers that is only 6 numbers. eg +497007 which is the number for the main airport in Germany.
So how would you convince VPS's to be able to support ENUM they have to make major modifications to the on-net dialling, they might have to add a special character at the front plus a few more digits (if this would be come standard at all)? It sounds like some battles to fight.

Phone numbers, IMHO, should not contain special chars, at least at this point in time anyway.

Companies should never have used "numbers" that conflict with the PSTN, same goes for voxalot, which is the crux of the matter here, as I posted before there are real PSTN numbers that are 6 digits in length.

All voxalot has to do is prefix their numbers in the same way a country does, the ITU stipulates 0 for trunk/long distance dialing, and 00 for international, since 0 is *NEVER* used for international calls perhaps the easiest thing to do is prefix all non-PSTN numbers with 0<number>, although this will likely conflict with the dial plans of people, so we're left using * overrides which should work since the PSTN network uses these as well.

Convincing VSPs to support ENUM is not my battle, there were just some thoughts.

We are already convinced that ENUM is a strategic technology hence the recent changes to our internal numbers.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
