Ring Duration
Hi
I am having a problem with the Ring Duration on the Account page. If I set it to 99 seconds (maximum) and the voicemail off, at 99 seconds my caller gets cut off. Indeed if I set the duration to 0 seconds the caller is cut off straight-away. Is there any way of having the voicemail switched off and the duration set to say, a couple of minutes? It takes me a long time to answer the phone sometimes but I don't want the voicemail option. Many thanks. Chris |

I've had another look at this and it would appear that the caller is getting cut off after around 40 - 45 seconds. If the ring duration would go to 99 seconds it might just be enough!
Any help at all would be great! Cheers |

Double check that your device on any other VSPs are not chopping off the call.

Thanks for your reply.
As an experiment, I have set my account to have a 5 second ring duration but set the voicemail to off. If I call my VoXaLot number it rings for 5 seconds and stops. I have tried with VSPs as well such as Entanet, FWD and Orbtalk and they all stop ringing after a maximum of 45 seconds (when set to 99). I don't think it's my ATA as the time it takes to drop the call varies as I change the ring duration? Thanks for the suggestion anyway. Chris |

Don't rule out the device. It will always cut out at the lesser of the two timimgs. For example, if the device is set to 45secs and VoXaLot 5secs then the phone will stop after 5secs. If the device is set to 45secs and VoXaLot to 99secs then the phone will stop after 45secs. As a test, try registering a softphone with VoXaLot and repeat the test.

Many thanks for your suggestion. I'll give X-Lite a go and see what happens.
Cheers. Chris |
