Default ENUM for sipbroker PSTN gateways...

I just did an ENUM test on 61388072174 [this is a sipbroker Melbourne PSTN to VoIP gateway number].

I thought that it would have routed to an ENUM SIP URI.

Let's say you have a device that for whatever reason, may or may not be Internet connected -- if it is, then an ENUM lookup can be done to call the gateway, if it isn't then a standard PSTN call can take place.

Does anyone else think this would be a good idea at all?

It is a good idea. We might talk to the e164.org guys and see what we can do.

I was exploring the ENUM this weekend. Now I guess it is becoming for clear for me. Please confirm/correct the following statements:
1) The ENUM is just registering your PSTN number in the VoIP world. This registration does not by itself provide an interconnectivity between the two worlds of the PSTN and VoIP. In other word you become the owner of the same number in the VoIP world the same you are in the PSTN world.

2) You need a VoIP account to make the ENUM point at; otherwise the ENUM call will not be answered.

3) There is no way, so far, by which I can dial my ENUM and make it ring at the telephone set connected to the PSTN line.
