Default SIPME and G711u

Hi,

I just noticed that when using SIPME my codec was G711u -- but I thought that they only used G729a.

I am pretty sure that in the past it was using G729a.

Does this mean that for my setup voxalot is proxing the session? Is there anyway I can test to see if this is the case?

Thanks in anticipation of your advice/comments,
Nathan.

Hi Nathan,

Yes VoXaLot would be transcoding 711 to 729.

Are you proxying all RTP streams or only where transcoding is required?

Hi Again,

Yes, I would like to know the answer to this.

I turned off all NAT settings and put the router on DMZ in an attempt to see if I could avoid proxying. I have always had the 'use outbound proxy' turned off also.

However, it always seems to do the transcoding / proxying anyway. I am assuming that it is a problem with my end, but I don't think there is any other settings I can turn off or on.

Anyway, I have no problems with the service (thanks), everything works fine for me, I was just trying to avoid the proxying.

Thanks,
Nathan.
