You will still be up for the cost to call your own phone, then the cost of the call to be made from the SPA-3000 using Voxalot.

Your call via the SPA-3000 using voxalot will require a suitable Internet connection for the VoIP call that you make -- usually a 512/128 connection is enough... some people manage with a 256/64 one, but it isn't recommended.

The call 'from' your home via voxalot will use your Internet connection.

If you could get a WAP service working, then you could do VoIP without any VoIP equipment.... just two fixed line phones. The catch is that you need to have the call setup saved in the web callbook phone book, so it won't be as dynamic via the WAP service.

considering mobile phone is out of the question.
so its definite i have to get that spa 3000.

now im just want to make sure that spa 3000 kind of setup will do away with the webcall site login?
just by itself (stand alone) i can make calls from location A via home fixed phone hooked up to spa 300 to location B?
and
i thought i dnt need that kind of high internet connection because i should end up with a pstn to pstn call?

You will be making two calls, one PSTN to PSTN to your SPA-3000 and the second from your SPA-3000 through your Internet connection using VoIP.

The SPA-3000 cannot handle two concurrent PSTN calls on the one phone line service; I suppose it might be possible with a conference call, but that is not likely to work.

A feature of the SPA-3000 is that you can call it remotely and use your VoIP connection to make further a call. Therefore, the SPA-3000 needs to have Internet connectivity.

You cannot initiate the web callback without using a web browser setup with an active Internet connection.

NB: the call from the remote location will not typically be free, there will be a cost from the calling phone to the home phone. The call from the SPA-3000 to a second PSTN line will cost whatever your VSP charges.

Perhaps a calling card would better suit your needs.

i check call cards here..they are 3x expensive than the ones most VSP rates. thats why i find voxalot very interesting.
so do you mean the guide that i posted earlier if followed closely will not help me avoid using the browser to initiate my voxalot call plan?

If a speed dial entry _could_ be a call pair for a web callback with a slight delay, then that would solve your problem. There is already a phone book for web callbacks initiated via a mobile, so if such entry could be added to a speed dial.... in which case you would call home, then use VoIP to voxalot to call the speed dial, hangup and wait for the call; but again, it will rely on you having the call pair setup before your call.

i guess the solution that really suits you is the use of voxalot by triggering through an sms which is unfortuately not available yet.

i wonder if voxalot are still considering to add this possibility or not

thanks

Why not the following:
- use sipbroker PSTN like IVR
  • ask for voxalot account number;
  • accept PIN [could be the VM PIN] (perhaps the VM PIN will be too insecure...);
  • ask for first number;
  • ask for second number;
  • ask for number of seconds delay [defaults to 15].

Then the caller simply hangs up and waits for the first leg of the call to call the phone he is at.

Use voxalot dial plans to route call to both numbers -- no reliance on dodgy or non-existant mobile signal.

There will be a short call to the closest PSTN gateway number to enter the required information from the initiating phone service.

Edit: added login to voxalot section and tidied up.
