![]() Following my problems described in this thread http://forum.voxalot.com/showthread.php?t=76 I did further testing and what nots.
One of the reasons for using Voxalot is it is able to do an ENUM lookup before routing to my provider thus saving me more money when possible. For ENUM lookup the number dialed has to conform to a certain international format. [Country Code] + [Area Code] + [Number] Sometimes "Area Code" is non-existent for some countries and can be ignored. So for Australian numbers I have to send to Voxalot 61393213210. Any other way ENUM lookup will not be possible (i think). If an ENUM could not be found, Voxalot will change that number and route it to my provider according to my dial plans in Voxalot. I have tweaked my dial plans several times and it is now this: 1 _11 ${EXTEN} AstraTel [Edit] [Delete] 2 _613XXXXXXXX 0${EXTEN:2} AstraTel [Edit] [Delete] 3 _04XXXXXXXX ${EXTEN} PennyTel [Edit] [Delete] 4 _[1-5789]NXXXX. 0011${EXTEN} PennyTel [Edit] [Delete] 5 _03. ${EXTEN} PennyTel [Edit] [Delete] 6 _*XXXXX. ${EXTEN} Sipbroker [Edit] [Delete] I have tried several Australian PSTN numbers and they all work, EXCEPT mine. I know my PSTN number is in the ENUM registry e164.org. I know all the other numbers I've tried and worked are not in any ENUM registry. My guess is something went wrong in the ENUM lookup for my PSTN number and I got a fast busy tone. Next I sent my PSTN number in this format 0393213210 and it worked. Note: My ENUM is mapped to my Freecall account. At no stage did I use my Freecall account to dial my PSTN number. Thus my Freecall account remained at my address during all the testing. Can someone who knows of an ENUM number test this theory for me?

![]() Just tested your number from VoXaLot and connected ok.
I suspect the problem might be the loopback test you are performing. Here are 2 numbers to try: 18005551212 - U.S. TellMe number 1-516-687-5089 - This number will tell you if you connected via PSTN or ENUM If the second number is connecting via PSTN then I suspect your ATA dial plan might be kicking in and not allowing the dialled number through to VoXaLot. Let us know how you go.

Thanks Martin. Could be the loop back like you said. I have physically 3 VoIP phones in my network. One with Freecall, one with Astratel and one with Voxalot. Using Astratel phone, I dial *011 613<home number> my Freecall phone rings. Cos my ENUM is mapped to my Freecall phone. Using Voxalot phone and send 613<home number> doesn't work. But if I send 03<home number> my home phone rings. And this raises another question. Why wouldn't my home phone ring when I send 613<home number> to Voxalot? Thanks again Martin.

![]() I suspect it is your ATA dial plan. Is it possible that 613<home number> is going elsewhere and not to VoXaLot?

![]() I re-mapped my ENUM to point to my AstraTel phone and when I dial my home number my AstraTel phone rings. So it works this way.
Now I realised something else. My Voxalot number and my Freecall number are exactly the same! Could this be causing the problem? I cannot dial from my Voxalot phone to my Freecall phone? I wonder if I can make it not send my number. ![]()
