I would guess that when you forward from your ATA registered with Gotalk, you enter some code from your keypad that tells Gotalk to send the call to a different number. Your ATA would not actually ring, and no call is initiated at your end.

If you use Voxalot, you would be receiving a call to the registered SIP device or agent (Voxalot) and initiating an outgoing call at the same time. Probably Gotalk is not set up to handle that.
