OK.. It's amazing with all this new VOIP technology, there really isn't that much going on in the way of free services running on the net.

I remember in the hayday of comuters people went wild running BBS's and all sorts of things.

Phone dating service software exists. It's used everywhere.

Just add Asterisk to the mix and away you go.

It's like chat conference servers. So far I have only found 3 world wide. Amazing.

I believe these things aren't being made accessible enough, or advertised enough.

SipBroker and VoXaLot are a good start. Making Direct dialing much more user friendly. I guess Sip direct dialing was not all that well thought out in it's conception as the sipbroaker idea really should have been intergrated into the SIP design. It's a logical way to do direct dial from a DTMF handset.

People go crazy for things like Skype, and Yahoo / MSN messenger.

SIP is an ever better system . We just have to educate the public more and make the setup procedures simplier.

Anyhow, back to TelePhreak.

I've played around with his site a bit and it's really worth listing in SipBroker's free number list.

The site offer's from it's main menu.

- User conferencing.
- Caller ID read Back.
- Access to listen to all sorts of Police and Rail Road Scanner frequencies.
- Voice Mail
- Echo Test
- WBAI Radio feed NY.
- Media archives.

---

This is exactly the sort of out of the box thinking that really helps to promote SIP to the hobiest which gets more people involved.

Thumbs up to the guys for setting this up. (Some 4 years ago would you believe!).

Anyhow, back to the fun.
