Thanks for the very detailed reply. It turns out that for some unknown reason the PSTN number I was calling (+32-2-8080352) would not recognize my alias, however it did recognize the Sipbroker test number as well as any SIP code I threw at it After trying a different access number (+32-2-8882323), everything worked as expected. So this had absolutely nothing to do with the alphanumeric SIP URI, as I erroneously assumed in the beginning.
