Default Does Voxalot Add Latency?

I was curious as to whether calling out (or being called at a Voxbone DID) through a Voxalot account added an additional layer of latency than if I registered directly with each of these places individually? I ask because my ping times from my location in Canada to the Voxalot sip server are not neglibile, e.g.

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 112ms, Maximum = 117ms, Average = 115ms

Obviously its gotta be faster to do things without the Voxalot middleman, but on the other hand, there is a point when routing it through Voxalot will start to add too much latency. I fear, just from where I am geographically and the characteristics of my ISP, that Voxalot is not a good candidate for me because it will add 67 ms one-way (round trip time divided by two) to all my phone calls.
