Language Translations

We have received quite a few emails requesting language translations for www.voxalot.com.

If you would like to volunteer, please PM me your email address and I will arrange for the language properties file to be sent to you.

Thanks.

You could always build a po file and upload to www.translingo.org and have people do translations online, php can cope with this just fine if you want help/details you know how to get ahold of me...

I'm quite well verses at how to do website translations these days :)

Well we publish the translations to http://www.translingo.org so you need to go there and signup, once you've done that you can login and either list projects, or just go to this URL directly...

http://www.translingo.org/project.php?pid=36

Then scroll to the bottom, select the language and it will show you all the strings needing to be translated etc...

How do you get the sites to show in each of their translated languages?

I went to http://www.translingo.org and found the project for tanslingo, but couldn't find any way to display or use the website in any other languages....

Well,

the project 36 (http://www.translingo.org/project.php?pid=36) evilbunny mentioned is the e164.org translation.

There was no Voxal project so far, so I just copied the html-sites of voxalot,
translated them into the po-type-files and put them at http://www.translingo.org/ and allready started the german translation. (for directly html -> po is no prgm)

Unfortunately there is no howto for translingo so you need to experiment.
Furthermore there is no option to amend/change/delete a project and so you find lot's of 'dead' projects.

Well, just (Register->) Login, then click on Project Search, type in "Vo" and you'll see (beside others):
VoXaLot => VoXaLot Tutorials
VoHome => VoXaLot HomePage
VoFAQ => VoXaLot FAQ # does not work
VoIntro => VoXaLot Introduction
VoFAQ2 => VoXaLot FAQ

Now open one of them and now you can either Add a new language in which to translate or you can continue an existing one..

I have allready started a german translation..

Carl,

Thanks for your work so far, but you might want to just hold off for just a little while until we (VoXaLot) get just a little bit more organised.

It looks like you have been extracting text from each page and translating that as you go, however, we already have all our text externalised into resource bundles, so if you give us a chance to work out how Translingo works, hopefully I will be able to just upload the resource bundles directly.

Let me do a bit of research and I will post back here. Thanks.

When I get back from a trip in about a week , I could translate it to Russian and/or Swedish.
