Audio latency in one side
Folks,
I am trying to configure voxalot to make calls from my mobile device through 3G. My Mobile provider blocks all ports except 80 and 443. Hence to circumvent this issue, I started configuring my device to make and receive calls. After a lot of trial and error, I am finally close to success. As of now I am able to receive and make calls. However, there is a latency problem in audio. Apparently the latency is only in oneway! While sending voice from my mobile device to the other side, there is some latency. But there is no latency in receiving audio to my device. This happens irrespective of the VSP. My Voxalot Settings Symmetric NAT Handling [Yes] Optimise Audio in all VSPs [No] Mobile Device settings Protocol : TCP (Mainly for reducing the battery drain. Also helps circumventing port blocking) Keep awake in background is set to off. Proxy: EU.voxalot.com:443 (80 also has the same effect) Other settings are as follows http://i55.tinypic.com/s4b5mv.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/2m49cnb.jpg Audio codecs http://i54.tinypic.com/nw0c2c.png Nat Traversal http://i54.tinypic.com/2lbdfub.jpg Appreciate any help. I ran into this one way latency some time ago.
IMHO, this is a limitation of the internet service for uploading packets, or a delay purposely introduced by the ISP to make VoIP calling virtually unusable. |
