Has Voxalot gone musical?
My VoIP phone connected to Voxalot is displaying some very odd behaviour today. Every time I dial a number, at the same time as the phone starts ringing, I am bombarded by popular music which just about drowns out the ringing. As soon as the call is answered, the music stops (thankfully).
My first thought was that my service had been hijacked and that this was someone's idea of fun. Just to make sure it was not the VSP's fault, I made a couple of calls using a different VSP (also via Voxalot) but I was still getting the music. This points the finger straight at Voxalot as I can't think of where else the music could be originating from. Have I gone mad or is this Voxalot's way of celebrating the festive season? Mark |

This just totally baffles me. I have been involved in VoIP forums for a while now and have never heard of such a phenomenon. I suspect someone's getting a good laugh out of this.
I re-booted my router and PAP2. That seems to have fixed the problem. I made a couple of test calls and the music is no longer there. That still leaves the mystery of what caused the phenomenon in the first place... Will the culprit please come forward! :) |
It is very popular to pick a song as your phone's ringback tone in some countries(especially in Eastern Asia countries) , this service is provided by telecom company, named "Colouring Ring" or "Cool Ring". Maybe, this is culprit?:)

i guess it is from your ATA that has the new technology of ringback music. have a look on it if you can activate and deactivate it.

I have a PAP2 that's a few years old and haven't made any changes to it. Anyway, I'll have a look when I get home tonight.
