MyNetFone/Voxalot/SIP Broker engaged tone

I have recently taken the plunge and become a VOIP user.
I am using a Linksys SPA3102 as my ATA/Router. I have set up an account with Voxalot and SIPBroker. I have also been able to call *600 which has the echo test.
What I CANNOT do is dial in from my PSTN using the SIPBroker Melbourne Australia number and my Voxalot account number. All I am getting is the engaged tone.
Can someone please help me, as I am becoming annoyed that I must be close, but not close enough to having it working.

Thx:confused:

What do you get when you call the SIPBroker number? It should be someone asking you to enter the number you want. You should then enter *061nnnnnn where nnnnnn is your VoXaLot account number. You can also use *010nnnnnn and *031nnnnnn.

MG.

Thanks for your reply MG.
When I call the SIPBroker number, it asks me to dial the number required. I dial the *061xxxxxx# and then it comes back with an engaged tone.

I assume you tried with *010xxxxxx and *031xxxxxx and the same thing happens

If that's the case you may want to check if VoXalot is registered properly with the ATA and that you are not having NAT issues....

If you enter your VoXalot URI here (like xxxxxx@au.voxalot.com) SIPBroker - EziDial and press dial, does your phone ring and do you hear the ECHO test lady?

Thanks for your suggestion emoci.
I tried the link and the phone did not ring.
Do you have any other ideas I can try?
I didnt realise how complicated this would be :-(

There is one of two problems here:

1. Your ATA is not registering with VoXalot (hence no incoming calls)
2. Your ATA is registered with VoXalot, but it is behind a router which is blocking incoming traffic

Here is a detailed guide on how to set up your SPA http://forum.voxalot.com/voxalot-gen...lkthrough.html

A few highlights from that guide that may help with incoming calls
-Preferably make sure you have STUN set up in your ATA (stun.xten.com has been working for me)

-If you are behind a router that has UPnP, make sure it's active

-This is optional, but it may help to open these port ranges and forward them to your ATA's IP:

5050-5064
5000-5005
16300-16500 (This is a bit hardware/software specific, it may change from one to the next, check within your device it should have a specification of which RTP ports it uses)

Confirming things are working:

Outgoing Calls : Can you reach *600 (Echo Test)
Incoming Calls: Can you reach the ATA via SIPBroker or the EziDial link I gave you above

Thank you very much for your detailed response emoci.
What ramifications will all this have with my primary VSP who is MyNetFone - I am currently using MNF for outgoing calls.

It shouldn't affect it. Rememeber the steps above are really more concerned with incoming calls.

However if you have some way to receive incoming calls with MNF, it would be a nice test to see if incoming calls work in that case....

Eventually, when you manage to get things working, you can set up MNF within VoXalot and use from within VoXalot to make calls

BTW, it should say stun.xten.com not .org above
