Nokia leaves Voxalot users in the cold

Did you notice that Voxalot won't work with the next handsets of Nokias Nseries? Especially the N96 is not supported. I have already blogged about it:
Markus Göbel's Tech News Comments: Nokia leaves Asterisk users in the cold

Markus Göbel's Tech News Comments: Why Truphone and Gizmo5 applaud that Nokia turns it's back on mobile VoIP
So what can Voxalot do since Nokia backs away from a native SIP client? Develop an own mobile software, like Truphone and Gizmo5 do? Or will we just ignore future Nseries devices?

A friend showed me his N78, a nice handset and I looked for what I wanted to see and coulnt find and told him it wasnt for me! Same with N96.
The question is in future Nokia Software updates for the likes of N and E series, will Nokia remove the SIP client? The latest N95 update is not affected.

My guess is that the Eseries won't be affected but Nseries will

I guess that Nokia is still weighing answers like ours and hasn't decided yet everything regarding the native VoIP client. Our Voxalot community should act up.

The problem affects all Symbian Series 60 3rd generation Feature Pack 2 (S60 3.2). That's why the N95 wasn't affected at the last firmware update, it uses Feature Pack 1. The E71 also doesn't use S60 3.2.

My guess is that the Eseries won't be affected but the Nseries will, unless we can convince them. Maybe you want to leave your comment here:
Nokia Conversations: The report of the death of VoIP has been grossly exaggerated

I have the feeling that Nokia really takes into account the user feedback provided at the Nokia Conversations website.

Hello thanks for the quick reply. I will ask again, do you think Nokia could have omitted Sip client from the latest N95 update if they wished? If yes which means Nokia may offer future updates without SIP client. I think from now I will make sure about whats added and taken away before excercising any updates.
Thank you for bringing to our knowledge.

N95's and Eseries' SIP client won't be affected

Theoretically Nokia can do whatever they want at a Firmware update. However it seems that the N95's and Eseries' SIP client won't be affected. That's what I understand from the last weeks' articles and statements.
