Voice codec g729;ilbc;gsm;ulaw;alaw
I have a question about voice codec that are used with voxalot, on the voxalot provider site i can see g729;ilbc;gsm;ulaw;alaw.
I have a registered account with lowratevoip and from theyr site i can see they use theese voicecodec : G.711 (64 kbps) G.726 (32 kbps) G.729 (8 kbps) G.723 (5.3 & 6.3 kbps) GSMFR (13.2 kbps) Well im getting some voiceproblem when i make a call to Pakistan using the lowrateprovider true voxalot. Im using a linksys spa1001 adapter, and on it im using G711 voice codec. The voxalot codec g729;ilbc;gsm;ulaw;alaw. Im wondering, is it the adapter that controlls the codec or voxalot voice codec system ? |
Codec
I believe that the choice of Codec is "negotiated" between the calling and called party's hardware device or soft phone at the time of call set-up.
G711 (u or a coding) is the same as ulaw or alaw codecs in the Voxalot list. |
ok thanks :=)
