Dial Plans to overcome lack of Gateways

Martin et al.

Have you considered customising VoXaLot so that users that don't have gateways can use your service and still register their ata with another VSP. What I had in mind was this.

(<:##aaaaaa#bbbbbb##>[x*][x*].<:@voxalot.com>) where aaaaaa is the voxalot user ID and bbbbbb is the voxalot password. Hopefully you could scrape the user name and password out of the dialled number so that you know who is sending the call.

If you could make this work, I think your would open the service up to a wider group of people.

Do you think this could work?

Sounds like a great idea. Register with one provider to get inbound calls and allow outbound calls to get routed to a different proxy where the proxy can recognise the user.

It would impact the performance of the box somewhat because the username and password would need to be verified for every call but might not be that bad.

Check out this thread. It may be what you are looking for.

This would do the trick using a different approach (probably cleaner). VoXaLot would then have to forward the call to you, presumably you would manage this in the call forwarding section.
