I have an E71 and have successfully registered my Voxalot account in the SIP settings. I have three SIP accounts and have set up the basic call rules. I have called the echo test number and it connected no problem. However every time I try and make a call out I just keep getting the message 'Address busy'. This happens no matter what number I dial. I tried also on x-lite softphone and the message 'unavailable - please try again' is all I get. Help would be appreciated.

Make sure your ID is sent to the network:

E60 & some other models:
Menu — Tools — Settings — Call — Send my net call ID = Yes

E51 & some other models:
Menu — Tools — Settings — Phone — Call — Send my internet caller ID = Yes

I have set up my E65 as per the first post and it registers and works. Occasionally though I get registration failed under the sip settings (probably caused by internet/wifi drop out. The phone does not retry even though I have automatic connection enabled in the sip settings. I need to disconnect the wireless LAN connection and it then reconnects a few seconds later and the phone registers to voxalot again. Anyone know how to get it to reconnect automatically when this happens or is there some software (fring?) that maybe handles reconnection better?

Voxalot on the Nokia N900

I woild like some support in setting up Voxalot on the N900, I have previously had success with other N series devices but am getting nowhere with the N900.

Is anyone else using the N900 or able to give me some advice on what settings I should be using...I have tried everything I can think of so far.

Some help, would be very much appreciated!

Your problem is likely that there is no "Internet Telephony" application; on a lot of the newer Nokia units, there is a SIP stack, but no supporting application.

The N900 supports SIP straight out of the box in the same way the N95 and other devices do...I have posted here before I try on the maemo forums as I was looking for a voxalot user, I have not heard of anyone else having problems thus some guidance of settings here I think would be useful.

Okay, well the N95 has both SIP stack and "Internet Telephony" application, the N96 only has the SIP stack. Are you sure that the N900 has both the SIP stack AND the "Internet Telephony" application?

I have never been lead to believe otherwise and can find no information to say otherwise, SIP is a fully intergrated component. Fring is in beta for the platform which will be a solution with some more work but I would rather be using the native client for integration with my contacts.

I am no sort pro user so I could be going wrong somewhere.

The setting options presented are as follows...

Username:

Advanced...

Username:
Transport: Auto/TCP/UDP/TLS
Outbound proxy:
Port:
Discover public IP: y/n
Loose routing: y/n
Keep alive mechanism: Auto/INVITE/REGISTER/OPTIONS/OFF
Auto detect STUN: y/n

As I said, the SIP stack is on plenty of models, you need a supporting application on the device -- Fring might be a suitable application when it is ready, but until then, the out of the box Nokia may or may not have the required application.
