Voice Mail

How do I set up my voice mail?

martin 02-15-2006 11:30 AM

If you dial extension 500 you can follow the voice prompts. Default password is 9999 (this can be changed via the IVR)

Welcome to the forum dennis ;)

I can't log into my voicemail. The system doesn't reconize my password. What do I do ?

martin 02-21-2006 08:52 PM

Hi Miles,

Did you try 9999 as the password?

I tried both my password and 9999.

Hi Miles,

Can you please PM me your 6 digit number.

Call went Right To Voice Mail

My call went directly to voice mail without ringing? Is there a setting I missed?

martin 03-17-2006 04:57 PM

Hi Dennis,

Is your ATA registered with Voxalot. By that I mean line 1 or 2 etc are registered not just in the dial plan?

dennisd345 03-17-2006 05:13 PM

ATA Not Registered

Hi,

No my ATA is not registered with voxalot. I called with my cell phone to a DID that I am pointing to voxalot?

I guess I should change from iptel.org to voxalot?

Thanks!

martin 03-17-2006 05:21 PM

It will only ring your ATA if it is registered, otherwise it goes to voicemail as you are unavailable. The other option is to set-up a call forward in your member settings.

If you are unavailable, the call forwards get checked before going to voicemail.

Working ... BUT

Hi Martin,

I have registered the ATA and it rings when I call BUT that's all it does, now it does not go to voice mail. Is there a way of having it go to voice mail let's say after six rings?

Thanks,

Dennis

Guess This Has Stumped You?

Hello Martin,

I guess this is causing people to scratch their heads... ???

martin 03-19-2006 10:58 AM

Hi Dennis,

Not at all, it is on the list of things to do.

Voicemail

I have got the default forwarding to work OK.
Sadly though, as there seems to be no way of altering the time before voicemail cuts in, the voicemail on my forwarding destination cuts in first - what I really want to do is have my voxalot voicemail work instead.

Voice Mail

Martin and the the men at voxalot are great and I am very grateful for the 'free' things they are giving us. I am working on trying to set up an Asterix and that may take care of the problem.

There is definitely a number of benefits in doing your own VoIP routing (especially for the paranoid :)

Voice Mail Does Not Pick Up

Hi,

When calling my number, it can ring to to 12 times and voice mail never starts? I have listened to all the options after dialing 500 + password ???

Thanks,

dennisd345 03-24-2006 03:40 PM

Some Progress?

Ok.... I had two numbers pointing to my voxalot account...I changed this and was able to have the voice mail begin...BUT,,, there is always a but, the voice mail begins without a ring! It just says that I am not available. I recorded a message etc but that did not come through, just the pbx.... I called from my cell phone to my Voxbone number....

martin 03-24-2006 08:56 PM

Hi Dennis, if you have 2 numbers are BOTH registering with VoXaLot. If it is going to voicemail right away then the ATA using that number is not registered with VoXaLot.

dennisd345 03-24-2006 09:01 PM

It goes to Voice Mail right away

Hi Martin,

I now have two accounts but the calls go to voice mail right away. There is no chance to answer the call. I test this by calling from my mobile phone, to a pstn number then calling...and I should get a ring and then voice mail. I have asked in past emails if it is possible to choose the number of rings before voice mail? IP call does allow this when using one of their DIDs...
