How to choose provider for outgoing calls?
Hi,
Is there a way to simply choose one of the VOIP providers registered on my Voxalot account for outgoing calls? As in--dial a key sequence such as #1 and get that provider's dial tone, then dial a PSTN number? I have searched documents and forums but haven't managed to discover the secret. I want to be able to do this separately from the smart call dial plans. I split my time between two countries, and what's "smart" differs depending on where I am. I know I can set up outgoing with gateways in a Sipura 3000, which is what I have done in one location. However, I don't have a Sipura 3000 at the other location, so I'm interested in being able to manually choose the provider for outgoing calls. Thanks for your help. |
If you create Voxalot dialplans that give you a unique prefix for each provider, then you can incorporate the prefix into the dialled number.
So, for instance, using the following dialplans, dialling 1*<destinationnumber> will route the call through Sipgate and 2*<destinationnumber> will route it via Sipgate. _1*. ${EXTEN:2} Sipgate _2*. ${EXTEN:2} Voipcheap The only thing that this doesn't do is to give you an intermediate dial tone, but would you really need it? ataboy |
