Unable to register (account worked for 1 day)
Hello,
I registered my account a few days ago, it worked for one day, my mother left me a voicemail (got e-mail confirmation) and shortly after that now my device (Grandstream) failed to register and still is unable to do so for a second day in a row. I've read "Read this BEFORE creating a new post about a server being down" (no problem in this area), changed from US.* to EU.* back and forth, added\removed STUN, added\removed :5060 after server\proxy name, used both us.voxalot.com and voxalot.com as server name, danced with tambourine around campfire - nothing helped. Four other lines on my device are working fine (with other VOIP providers). Was it something my mam said in her voice message or there are some problems with voxalot servers ? Please help. User ID is 308219. Thanks ! |
Explain your network setup and device settings as we can only guess what the problem is without details.

Device settings : SIP server : voxalot.com:5060 (tried us.voxalot.com/eu.voxalot.com/with or w/a port number - no difference) Outbound Proxy : us.voxalot.com:5060 (tried us.voxalot.com/eu.voxalot.com/with or w/a port number - no difference) User ID : 308219 Local SIP port : 5060 NAT Traversal (STUN): Yes (No/No, but send keep-alive - all tried, did not help) SIP Registration: Yes SIP Transport: UDP (TCP did not change anything as well) Use DNS SRV: Yes (was No - no diff) As you can see, I played with it a lot - no luck however. Four other lines are working fine. Is there anything else that you might need to know I missed ? Thanks ! |
Here's some tips.
1. Enable UPnP on your Linksys router if you haven't already. 2. Change the 5060 port to Voxalot's alternative ports. 3. Check your password and if possible try your Voxalot account on your other devices you've mentioned to exclude the Grandstream ATA as the root of your problem. 4. The sip server field should be either .us, .eu or .au depending on your continent of residence and not voxalot.com. Enabling SRV DNS is advised. 5. Use either STUN (stun.voxalot.com:3478) or Outbound proxy but not both at the same time. If your ATA is on DMZ STUN should work, but it may also work with or without Outbound proxy. 6. SIP Transport should be UDP. Provided your ISP isn't blocking VoIP on their network, (and the fact that you have addition SIP devices working means they aren't) I find no obvious reason why your ATA won't register. |
