Inbound calls.......
Hello Martin,
Re my Voxalot number. My problem is I can make/receive calls to/from another voxalot number but only make calls using my VSP (Betamax) and not receive calls completely meaning if anyone calling me the ATA will ring and upon answering nothing is heard and the caller hears as if the phone not answered. I tried call forwarding but then all incoming calls go to voxalot voicemail. My ATA is Zyxel P2002. Can any voxalot users call me to find the wayround? My ATA is Zyxel P2002, do you think its not upto the task? Any suggestions on compatible ATA, Voip Router etc? Many thanks. |
Hi,
I just looked at your setup and the only provider you have setup is FWD. Did you remove the Betamax provider? Also the call forwarding entry you had forwarded to yourself ehich explains the voicemail. As forwarding an inbound call to your VoXaLot account is redundant I removed this entry. |
Thank you Martin, Yes I removed because I didnt know what to do but I have now added a betamax and a sipgate account.

Hello Martin, When you get chance please have a look at the account.

Ok your setup in VoXaLot looks fine. To find out where things are going wrong can you:
- Unregister your ATA. Allow up to 1 hour for you ATA to do this properly - Call your internetcalls number again and make sure it goes to voicemail ok If things are ok up to this point: - Add a call forward record in the default field to sip:600@voxalot.com - Call your internetcalls number again and make sure it goes to echo test ok Finally back out the call forward entry and report back your findings. |
Thank you very much Martin. I shall unregister it now.

Hi, Martin, I followed your advice and calls now forwarded to sip:600@voxalot.com but they go to voicemail and the sipgate number sounds unobtainable.

I just tried dialling your VoXaLot number and it went to the echo test (as expected).
If this is not what is happening for you, then I think your problem is on the caller side rather than the callee. You can test this by using a PSTN access number found at SIP Broker. At the prompt dial *010 <your voxalot number> |
Hello, Yes I can make and receive calls to/from another voxalot number but when trying directly using landline or moblie to test my internetcalls.com voip number which is a UK geographical number, goes straight to voicemail and not to echo test. I followed your advice in the last post for echo test and it was successful but that was like calling my voxalot user number. I am trying to receive inbound calls to internetcalls.com account. The phone will ring but no voice transmitted.
