What Premium Features Would You Like to See?
Hi,
As the subject says, what new premium features would members like to see added to the Voxalot service? |
1) Visual switchboard, ala mysipswitch - so calls can be fiddled around with 'in transit'
2) star (*) codes for activating services - i.e. we can use the web GUI to setup cfwd rules, but have to be on the web to activate/change them - hitting a * code and a given number would be handy 3) Ringback - although admittedly you'd have to have a bunch of regional PSTNs/freephones for that - but it's a very handy thing to have (but a pain to configure via other sites currently!) 4) Mobile web interface supporting HTTPS (rather worrying it doesn't so far!) 5) API access to premium users (I have fudged this via the mobile web interface but it's not secure and less than ideal!) That's my 2p worth for now! :) |
1. Callback please.
2. VoxRoam? I also like ptruman's second idea. . . |
1. CallBack Service
Flavor 1 (probably relatively easy to set up): Set 2-3 shared DIDs that can be called worldwide (it really doesn't matter where they are, since the call won't be charged anyways). If caller ID matches a pre-specified list entered by the user(s), trigger a callback to that number. Flavour 2: Dedicated CallBack via one of the users own DIDs. The user has the choice to specify a list of authorized Caller IDs and setup a dedicated number to callback if no Caller ID is passed through. Even neater if the user could set up multiple of these CallBack scenarios with various DIDs that the user controls and has registered with VoXalot. 2. CallThru/VoXRoam Service Flavour 1 (probably easiest to set up): Currently I can call any SipBroker number, enter *010*500, enter my 6 digit VoXalot number and my pin, and check my VoiceMail. Imagine I could do the same, enter let's say *010*800, enter my VoXalot number and pin, and have a dialtone that'd let me dialout using my VoXalot acct. Flavour 2 (probably would need to do dome limited testing first to make sure it doesn't interfere with anything else): Users specify a list of authorized Caller IDs for CallThrough. When any of these phones with the Specified CIDs calls any SipBroker access number, they're automatically presented with a dialtone that allows them to use their VoXalot acct. for outgoing calls. 3. Enhanced Call Forwarding Quote:
-Add CallerID field to allow users to set their name -Add Outbound Proxy field -Add a field or introduce a variable that can be entered in the 'From User' field to allow transparent CID. Although these providers are rare, some will pass on any CID that is passed on to them. These providers are ideal for Call Forwarding since you can see the caller ID of the actual caller even when forwarding to a phone for example. So, if there was a variable that would insert into the 'From User' the Caller ID of the incoming caller that'd be cool (although use would be limited to very few providers). 5. Extensions or Extension Accounts One major issue that comes up is simultaneous registration of mutliple ATAs to the same account. One easy solution is to allow each VoXalot account up to 5 (or less) extension/alias accts. with which ATAs could register, and where calls can be forwarded via the Call Forwarding rules. We could also add a field to the Smart Call/Dial Plan similar to the check-filed there is for Virtual Toll Free, where users can enable/disable certain outgoing rules for these extensions. The general idea being that VoXalot acct 123456, could have alias accts. 1234561, 1234562, 1234563, 1234564, 1234565 to use. 6. Add Provider Names, rather than a numeric identifier in the tooltips for Call Records Well, that's all that comes to mind at the moment ... |
Hi,
1)It will be very nice to disable Smart Dialing Rule when VSP is disable. I can use external script to check my credit & disable vsp if credit is finshed without changing dialing rules. 2)If VSP returns no credit error(if return error can be translated) option to disable VSP(will be value if #1 is implemented). 3)Option to add basic voxalot account as sub account of premium account. Best wishes. Majo |
1. VoxRoam
2. CallBack Support emoci's comments. |
- CallBack would be nice.
- Enhaned Call Forwarding as in emoci's post. |
It would b great if you could have multiple VM boxes, and combine this with call handling ie. certain VSP, number and time combination goto this VM box or if the line is busy using previous rule goto VM
Cheers Steve |
Slightly off topic as it pertains to non-premium members...I'd really like to see call logs for at least the missed calls. Of all the VSPs including all the free VSPs, Voxalot is probably the only provider to NOT offer call records for it's (free) users.

I also really liked VoxFox until it stopped working with Firefox 3. ANI callback would also be awesome. |
*** Call Recording .
*** Link to Some Kined of International Sim ( like Gt- Sim or United Mobile ). *** Simplified Menu and Active Status of Provider menu . :) |
I would like see call record of inbound calls.
In Chile we receive a lot of spam-calls (you win a credit, do you like take this wonderfull service, etc) but because i do not have register of the CID that originate the call, i can't block the callcenter using Call Fowarding features. Regards F_ |
iNum CLI when calling an iNum
When calling an iNum only the 6 digit VoXalot number is shown as CLI.
It would be nice if the CLI could be shown as +883510004xxxxxx when calling an iNum. The 6 digit VoXalot number as CLI makes sense only for Voxalot customers but not for other iNum holders. |
Failover Implemention for VSP's
Great to have a Failover Implemention for our registered VSP's within our premium voxalot accounts, if possible so if a VSP shows not registered due to being down, we could choose alternate VSP of our choose from another company that would take over the failed un-registered VSP
i.e Failover Implemention for VSP's |
Conditional Call forwarding
Conditional call forwarding is really needed since long, like forward call on...
If no availability If no answer.. after xxx Second If Busy Call forking Call waiting I was expecting to hear but seems nothing new offered for premium users. The feature list is growing and and many old and new providers consolidating their services by providing such features. |
define one out of my providers as the default provider
Hi,
as I am to lazy to look if I still have enough (pre payed) money on my accounts, I have two Betamax providers and I am calling as long as I have money then I switch to the other one and pay on that account, which needs some time until I am able to use this again. So - to be able to switch/change the provider in my dial plans easily, I'd like to be able to define one provider out of my provider list (toggle field) as default-provider and to name in my dial plans beside original, specific providers just: default-provider. This would mean that as soon as I changed my the default-provider (in the list of my providers), all my dial-plans would forward the calls hereafter to that other (default) provider. Thanks, Carl |

As it stands this is relatively doable...even though not in the exact form you describe... Simply create a Smart Call/Dial Plan rule...when you're ready to change the provider...simply edit the rule, use the drop-down box and select the new provider...you can switch back and forth as you wish... |
Security should be a feature
I'd like to see some thinking and plan regarding security. I'm not certain what, but probably either openvpn or sips(sip+tls+sdes)+srtp. Maybe zrtp fit's in there somewhere -- but that seems more client side.

More email options for voice mail
I'd like to be able to enter a list of email addresses to send the voice mail to. I need 2, but a list of like 5 would be good.
I'd like to be able to turn on and off emailing of voice mails, and when I email them I'd like to be able to choose if I want the actual audio included or not -- perhaps with a https link rather than the actual audio. Another nice feature would be to allow me to upload my PGP/GPG public key so the email and especially the sound could be PGP encrypted and then sent. Rob |

[1] without javascript
Pbxes.org allows their "Web call back" == "Virtual Toll Free" to operate without javascript. Voxalot users stick at the banner "Click here to call us for free". [2] translate In a global world, most people still prefer the read the language of their choice. Which is in > 50% of the cases not the English language. Please allow users to have text in their own language, or let them translate each text prompt. [3] one step step less The banner text "Click here to call us for free" is not desired in all situations. Give users an option to immediately start typing the phone number. [4] no fup exceeded on "virtual toll free" initiated calls Please sent the IP of the requesting http client, instead of the voxalot server. PS These features != Branding (and ain't worth € 243 per year) |
Wideband audio codec support!
No one has mentioned this, but the default set of supported audio codecs should be supplemented at least with G722. If I try to add this manually I get an error message.
Calling from one wideband-capable SIP provider to another via Voxalot decreases audio quality, that should not be the case at least for Premium users :) However if I am missing something and this feature works, any guidance would be much appreciated! |
Better call forwarding rules are essential - they seem to be asked about a lot on the forums and nobody seems to answer or even commenting.
Something as simple as: When unavailable: call xxx When Busy: do xxx With the above added to your existing call forwarding rules, the system could be used as it should be. As it stands it look like the only way people can achieve the above is to go to someone like PBXes as it can easily be done there but that shouldn't be necessary, plus their customer service is absolutely disgusting!!! Of course if their is a way of doing this please share it asap. Many thank team! |

At the moment we do not support g722 when connecting to downstream voice service providers. I will look into the viability of doing so and advise. |
emoci's idea is really cool, that is also what i'm looking for, i am also using viatalk, and i like all their features, one of the great things i like was the call forward variables, which just like emoci's one point that if no device is registered to voxalot, you can specify a forwarding number for that. and simultaneous ring (Call Fork) is a great feature. and i don't know f 3-way calling is already available and call transfer feature would be great... or the feature i'm used to are as follows: Call-waiting, 3-way calling, call forwarding (with the variables of when busy, when not registered,), Call Hunt, Inbound-Outbound Recording, and CALL TRANSFER...
|
My only wish: incoming calls and VSP field in call log.
|
Call forwarding that actually works when you try to forward incoming calls from a specific provider. This has been broken for years now. (There is a history in these forums of people--including me--ever being able to make it work).
