Hello,

I don't know exactly where to post this, as it may interest voxalot, sipbroker and enum members.

A friend of mine just told me about this site GeoNumbers

It's a community website where people can look up and also add a geographical number linked to non-geographical one... The site is available for Belgium, France and Spain.

the site claims
- 143 surtaxed numbers in Belgium
- 2345 surtaxed numbers (08xx) in France
- 161 surtaxed numbers (900) in Spain.

It could be nice if voxalot can use this directory too...

I've sent a e-mail to the webmaster of the site asking if they eventually could have a partnership and linking all the numbers to enum.

Hello, Here are some news about GeoNumbers. You can see on the front page a text explaining briefly the following : because of the pression of french industries and french public organisations, the site can't share anymore the not-overtaxed phone phone numbers. As we don't want to risk to go to court, we prefer to remove the phone numbers. but this is not the end, 2 petitions have been setup. Petitions that will be sent to the french prisident and the ARCEP (french telephone regulator).

I notice one thing : you may reach companies using they special for-foreigner phone number. But most french companies or public organisations refuse that foreign people from other countries to reach them (this is the case for example of the french railways SNCF, certains city halls, B&B Hotel, the employment agency ANPE). I asked some compagnies, which repleied they don't know. I asked the ANPE, whioch replied that you need to come in france to call them, because "you" can't be in any other place than in France.
