Call problems from "normal" PSTN numbers
Hi guys. Don't know whether I'm in the right area here or not, but here goes. I have friends in Brisbane who have tried to use the Sipbroker access number to get me on my VoXaLot number with no success. What is happening is that they get all the prompts and actually get through to me but I only get about 5 secs of voice from them and then nothing. Apparently they can always hear me as I just say I'll call you back straight away and they hang up and wait. They seem to be able to leave a voicemail message when I'm not available to answer, but the above problem happens on every call. Anyone got any ideas?

Sounds like a Codec related re-invite problem. I would double check your ATA Codec settings first.

Just checked and it is set at G729. I have a Netcomm v300

Try another voice codec then G729 |
Just a follow up FYI. I had D Link 302G modem and used to have occasional problems with VoIP quality. Also, the damn thing required re-starting at least once a week as it would lock up for no apparent reason, even though it was through a UPS. Anyway, I decided to buy a netcomm nb1300 ADSL modem to see if the lock-up problem stopped and it did. Also, had a call via PSTN to VoXaLoT last night and it was perfect. It's the only call I've had via this method which the caller could actually converse on.
So it looks like the modem might have been the culprit! Info for yo too Martin, for future reference. Edit: No settings on the V300 were changed. |
Thanks for the update.
