Slow call establishment between Voxalot account

It could be my set up, but it seems that when calling between Voxalot account, it does take a long time (may be 20s) for the other end to begin ringing, why is this so? Have I set something wrong? I based this on my experience with Gizmo where calls between Gizmon accounts are established almost instantly.?

Take a look at the device and it's setup. For example, on the sipura, unless the sipura dial plan is setup to do "instant dialing" i.e. S0, it will wait for an inter-digit timeout event to occur before setting up the call.

This is usually bypassed by adding # at the end of the number when you dial.

Once it hits the server call setup should be instant. I just ran a series of tests on all 4 servers and every number dialed straight away.

BTW, what cluster are you using?

I am using the AU cluster for both the callee and calling party. I used the speed dial function to effect the call and it seems that, funny enough, if the callee is another network altogether it appears slightly faster, between Voxalot account it does take a bit longer, it thinks about it and may be 10s or more later do we hear the other side ringing. If I am correct using speed dial should negate the ATA waiting time, I should only do **3 and not **3#? (3 being the chosen speed dial)

Same rule applies. The ATA does not treat this type of number any differently.

The delay in ringing you describe may also be attributed to the time the recipient takes to reply to the INVITE message.

Try testing another number *010854321 (one of our test numbers) and see how long it takes to goto voicemail.

actually you are right, the # does speed up the dialling. thank you
