au.voxalot.com down?

au.voxalot.com appears to be down - no registration on SPA and VoIP Monitoring Statistics | Oz VoIP Status VoIP Monitoring shows down as well - Bill

gotalkvoip 03-04-2009 02:00 AM

same here though

my voxalot accounts show all providers registered but registration from my spa to voxalot shows failed

voxalot status page shows ok which is strange

changed my email to hopefully reset my account but no success

we need a master reset :-)

------

funny can register with the us vox server and 500/600 work but cant callout with my registered providers which all show registered on my vox account

martin 03-04-2009 02:48 AM

The data centre folk are looking at the problem as we speak. I will let you know once we get an update.

martin 03-04-2009 03:02 AM

Our analysis suggests that there is a network problem. If you have setup your device to use SRV lookups your service should be failing over to one of the other servers.

Please see: http://forum.voxalot.com/voxalot-sup...lemention.html

gotalkvoip 03-04-2009 03:07 AM

Hi Martin is there any time estimation when the network problem will be fixed

thanks for your updates so far

edit; (thought id mention again) strange i can register with vox us server but outbound calls fail, my status vox page shows my vsp accounts r registered and I've checked my vsp's there up and running

cheerz

wildbill 03-04-2009 03:21 AM

Use DNS SRV:yes DNS SRV Auto Prefix: yes
Proxy Fallback Intvl: Proxy Redundancy Method:Based on SRV Port

I made the above changes on my SPA 3000 under line 1 and now showing registered - dont know what it all means though - Bill

gotalkvoip 03-04-2009 03:36 AM

I'm afraid to touch my spa settings spent to much time getting it right,.

though i have changed server to US and registers though cant make outbound calls

so wondering Bill,. since your spa is registering can u make outbound calls?

wildbill 03-04-2009 04:10 AM

Yes just got off the phone to my brother using Voxalot - I also remotely accessed his computer and changed his setting (SPA3102) and he is now showing as registered as well - Bill

gotalkvoip 03-04-2009 04:21 AM

thanks my end registers with us as i manually changed the setting to us.voxalot.com:5060 but i cant make outbound calls :(

anyway tryrd to follow your instructions above though doesn't seem to work for me maybe im doing something wrong not sure

anyway firstly have spa2000 which doesn't have: Proxy Redundancy Method

but I also have an spa3102
so i have set:
Proxy Redundancy Method:Based on SRV Port
Use DNS SRV:yes & DNS SRV Auto Prefix: yes

though Proxy Fallback Intvl:
not sure what amount i should use i usually have that same as register expires amount i.e. 900 seconds

also my proxy is set to: au.voxalot.com (on my spa2000)
on my spa3102 au.voxalot.com:5060

anyway settings i have it doesn't fallback and register unless im doing something wrong, does NAT have anything to do with DNS mines switched off

edit: thanks for your help so far

wildbill 03-04-2009 04:43 AM

My interval is 900 - NAT settings are beyond me but mine are set to yes - Enable and Keep Alive at top of Line 1 page also the following settings on the Sip page

Substitute VIA Addr:yes Send Resp To Src Port: yes
STUN Enable:yes STUN Test Enable: yes
STUN Server:stun.voxalot.com:3478 EXT IP:
EXT RTP Port Min: NAT Keep Alive Intvl: 15

Hope this works and also helps to power cycle SPA after changing things and also to backup your config before getting brave - Bill

Update:

We have been advised that the motherboard on this AU server has died. Techs are in the process of moving the Hard Drives into another machine.

VoXaLove 03-04-2009 05:23 AM

I too have been unable to call since late this morning (melbourne).
Turning on "Use DNS SRV" allows me to now login
BUT i've not needed this setting for years... Why Now?

The working settings are

Use DNS SRV:yes
DNS SRV Auto Prefix: yes
Proxy Fallback Intvl: 3600
Proxy Redundancy Method:Based on SRV Port

gotalkvoip 03-04-2009 05:38 AM

should proxy: (for DNS) be changed mines set to

proxy: au.voxalot.com:5060

don't know why doesn't work as: au.voxalot.com

edit:
for DNS switchced on, ive tried proxy
voxalot.com & voxalot.com:5060
still doesn't work :(

wildbill 03-04-2009 06:05 AM

Other settings I have are outlined here as well
HowTo: 6 Steps To Optimize Your Audio - Voxalot FAQ - dont know if you have tried these as well - also SPA proxy is still au.voxalot.com - Bill

gotalkvoip 03-04-2009 06:41 AM

This setting allows your ATA to fail over to backup servers. Please read: http://forum.voxalot.com/voxalot-sup...lemention.html

martin 03-04-2009 07:11 AM

Server motherboard has been replaced and server is now operational.

wildbill 03-05-2009 05:57 AM

Welcome to OzVoIPStatus | Oz VoIP Status VoIP Monitoring - Martin and crew are you aware of the outages today - Bill
Even though I can dial out it takes up to 20 seconds to access Voxalot Voicemail so all is still not well - Bill

Steve 03-05-2009 07:05 AM

Currently it takes 50 - 120 (hangup @ 120) seconds for the number dialled o start ringing.

scrag 03-05-2009 07:45 AM

What is going on with all of these outages - not really what I expected!

Been on and off since 8:11:36 EST for most of the day..... Current outage has been going for 46min so far.....

gotalkvoip 03-05-2009 07:46 AM

mine seems to ring instantly now 6:45pm 5-3-09

2803 03-05-2009 07:56 AM

same here

Interesting issues are happening here. I have a speed dial linked to my mobile phone. I have tried ringing it throughout the day. Often it fails without a tone or get a busy tone after a lengthy delay. Then perhaps a few minutes later my mobile will start to ring, reject the call, and then ring again... etc. This is through a pennytel account. In case like the other guy said it is account related I'm 836907.

Registering fine but not routing calls!!

Hey all and voxalot,
I been having trouble with my service all day.
I can register fine, from multiple devices even, but outbound calls dont work.

Interestingly, VOXALOT AND SIP CALLS DO WORK. ie, *500 voicemail and *xx. SIP calls work, but others wont.

MORE interestingly, the calls that work from my phone are the *same* ones that get routed properly in the Test Call applet of the Dial Plans config page - all other test calls time out with an unknown error.

My theory: this is a routing issue. Voxalot isnt placing my calls through my providers (MNF and Pennytel). Its only placing direct SIP calls.

I am now registering directly to MNF to use my phone.

Anyone have similar? Help!

scrag 03-05-2009 09:15 AM

Must be more than a motherboard that was repaired.... This is really inconvenient!!!!

kendid 03-05-2009 09:18 AM

I'm hoping the silence from them means they are busy working on it!

When it rains it pours -- seems like they are getting their share lately. Looking forward to seeing it all back online again!!

Dial Plan Test button not working

I have been playing around with the speed dial configs. Changed from the smartdial to my chosen vsp and it seemed to work. The Dial Plan Test button doesn't work, it just takes forever to refresh the screen. So I suspect the dial plans are not working as before.

gotalkvoip 03-05-2009 10:24 AM

my dial plan tests seem to work fine

just these outages are not allowing call outs with my vsp

Voxalot Outages

affinity 03-05-2009 10:28 AM

Slow, timeouts for me on Smart Call (dial plan) tests.

600 echo test doesn't connect, don't expect anything else to if that doesn't.

Is there an update as to what is going on Martin?

carlosalbffgomes 03-05-2009 11:03 AM

Some instability also on other servers

Until now I was connected to US server but it was very unstable from yesterday. I changed to EU server and it registers but when I call to one of my DIDs from one of my VSP registered with Voxalot, the call doesn't pass through to my IP Phone. One of my VSP shows me as being registered from the US server (64.34.173.199) and not with the EU server, as it should. My phone is OK to make calls and registers with EU Server (85.17.19.194), but no call from my VSP because they are not registered correctly. So, something is happening with the system, something is not working as it should.

au.voxalot problems

The dial plan test button now works. Speed dial to my mobile works. *600 echo test works, call to a voxalot number works. Looks like all back to business again. Cheers.

carlosalbffgomes 03-05-2009 12:06 PM

Now OK!

I'm registered with EU server and all seems OK.
Regards,

gotalkvoip 03-05-2009 12:14 PM

same here everything seems ok on my end

but be interesting to know the reasons for the outage today

and if we should expect the same tomorrow

cheerz

affinity 03-05-2009 12:18 PM

All seems to be fine now for me too.

martin 03-05-2009 12:21 PM

g00fy 03-05-2009 12:22 PM

All seems to work for now again, but the big question is, FOR HOW LONG???!!

It concerns me a lot that there is zero communications from Voxalot and I suer hope this is something that will be worked on!
