carriers.icall.com not working with Voxalot

I'm trying to get carriers.icall.com to work with my Voxalot account. It works if I configure my X-Lite softphone with my carriers.icall.com account, but when I enter the same settings in Voxalot, it doesn't. I have gotten Vitelity and CallCentric to work with Voxalot, but not carriers.icall.com. Any suggestions?

Is that all the info they give you....

Is there maybe a Domain Registrar and a Proxy (eg. icall.com and carriers.icall.com specifically)

Did you modify the port to match their preferences?

Are you trying to register, or make calls....try to see if you can place calls without SIP Registration....

I should have mentioned that I am able to place calls, but not receive them. But I can receive calls with the X-Lite. Also, Voxalot indicates that it has sucessfully registered with ICall.

Here is the configuration information from ICall (I've replaced my registration information) for configuring Asterix.

[icall]
type=friend
host=carriers.icall.net
context=icall_in
username=cust_MYLOGIN
secret=MYPASSWORD
disallow=all
allow=ulaw
allow=alaw
allow=gsm
insecure=very
canreinvite=no
qualify=no

The bolded part bothers me a bit....Martin can explain this properly, but my limited understanding is that VoXalot makes use of ReInvites to establish the incoming connection

Now is that what iCall asked for though (if that's the case this could be an issue), or is it just the default setting that was on Asterisk when you set it up (in this case we're back to square zero)

Check these:
In Member Details in VoXalot make sure Symmetric NAT is set to YES
In the VSP setup in VoXalot make sure Optimize Audio is set to No
See if there is a difference......

Also just to rule things out, can you receive calls directly to VoXalot or via another registered VSP:
-Either try calling SipBroker PSTN number then *010123456
-Or use SIPBroker - EziDial and enter your VoXalot SIP URI to see if the call comes in
-Or do you have any other providers that ring VoXalot successfully (I see callcentric mentioned, this has worked for incoming right)

1. Symmetric NAT is set to YES.
2. Optimize Audio is set to No.
3. I am able to register and receive incoming calls with both CallCentric and Vitelity.
4. I'll ask ICall if "canreinvite=no" is a requirement, or just a default.

Thank you very much for your suggestions.

canreinvite=no is the equivalent to "Optimize Audio=No"
.

Martin,

If I understand correctly, this means that if I set "Optimize Audio=No", then my Voxalot setting will meet the "canreinvite=no" requirement. Is that correct?

Well, the symptoms have changed. I'm no longer able to register my Voxalot account with iCall. I can still register my X-Lite SIP phone with no problems, almost instantly, and make or receive calls with X-Lite. But with Voxalot, with X-Lite shut down, the status remains "Auth. Sent". Any suggestions for getting it to connect with iCall?

That is correct. The only downside is that your voice traffic will be proxied through the Voxalot servers. This introduces the small possibly of a slight delay (lag) in your conversation (it depends on how good the network latencies are)... however, we have many, many users that do this with no noticeable effect.
