Voice Mail Diversion

I'm sure this has been asked, or is somewhere on the web site, but I just can't find it.

If someone rings me how many rings happen (or time limit expires) before the call gets diverted to voice mail? The information is needed for the boss (read WIFE).

Voicemail picks up after 35 seconds.

That long? That seems excessive by ordinary voice mail/answering machine systems which put it at 25 seconds max (or rather, the time it takes for four complete ring cycles). If voice mail hasn't picked up by then, I think some of my callers might think I don't have any answering service and just hang up, even though I would prefer them to leave a vmail. Could we shorten the time to 25?

For design reasons voxalot.com needs to be slightly longer than voxalot.com.au

At the moment the times are 35 and 30 secs respectively.

Please post your preferences here.

If it's not a whole lot of work, how 'bout user definable?

It's a little but of work that we will eventually do. In the mean time we are happy to make the simple change.

pvergers 06-05-2006 09:45 AM

please don't bring the .au one below 30sec (unless of course it can be disabled!)

Preference 1 - user configurable (delay and on/off).
Preference 2 - 25 secs.

Thanks.

Hi

I just noticed something with my SIPPhone account being registerd with Voxalot.

It answers after 25 seconds.

If I turn off SIPphone's VM, it still gives a recording saying the user does not have VM setup after the 25 seconds :-(, as such Voxalot's VM never gets a chance to pick up.

They too should give a user configurable seconds to answer or allow you to turn it off COMPLETELY, but if Voxalot get to it first, that would be awesome.

Only that 35 secs for voxalot.com needs to be shortened significantly. That is something like 6 rings which in Canada/US is much longer than voice mail or answering machines are normally configured for. If a five second longer activation is necessary then I suggest 21 for .com.au and 26 for .com, but if only a marginally longer delay is required, then I suggest 23 and 24 seconds respectively.
