Default Dialing Tone

Hi all,

I got a strange problem everything has been working great but I get home today and look at the phone its got a picture of what looks like a a picture of a face and lines coming from the mouth indicating speech. So when I lift the handset I get 5 short tones (like a stutter) and then proper dialing tone.

I have powered down rebooted everything but its still there, could voxalot be the problem ?

Thanks Paul

It's not a problem, You've got got VoiceMail ....

Call *500, enter your PIN and listen to it.
After listening save it by pressing 9 then 1 for old messages.
Hang up

After 3-5 minutes the interrupted tone should go away

You can later erase it by calling *500, or erase it online

Well, did that work...?

There is a learning curve with anything VoIP ... it'll be easier once you become familiar with things...

Depends on what you want in terms of minutes/features

You can grab a Prepaid Fido Card on EBay with a bunch of credit already on it ($25 - $75) for anywhere between $10-$20

Prepaid comes with included with Caller ID, VoiceMail, and Extended Network (so both Fido and Rogers network coverage)

Eg.

I would go with something like this:
FIDO PREPAID PAY AS YOU GO WITH SIM + $25 CREDIT SALE ! - (eBay.ca item 300253275473 end time 30-Aug-08 13:55:48 EDT)

Choose option A for the package, you can change it later to whatever you want ...

The only other thing I can think of, is that if you set up option C, and then set up a VoIP CallBack, all your incoming calls are unlimited, and you can use the callback to make outgoing calls (hence paying at VoIP rates for outgoing... just an idea though, sounds easier said than done)

If your card came with some credit, wait until you're here and grab them at a corner store once here...

They're not available online (in the sense that a code can be sent to you)

BTW, keep this in mind http://www.fido.ca/web/content/planp...8_doublerefill

If you must have one before getting here, send me a PM...

Actually I may have spoken too soon, I forgot that if you're willing to have a CC on file with them you can order a refill directly from the phone (see http://www.fido.ca/web/content/prepa...#InstantRefill )
